Also, did you get the chance to try what Jay mentioned?

Hi witek-27400, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you try marking the file as offline first in the Dropbox mobile app?
Afterwards, try downloading or exporting the file to your device.

I think I have tried and failed. Finally I have found a workaround for the problem... but I can test it for you if you want. Tag me, so I know it is important - I will try to recreate the problem.

Well... My workaround was to use Google Drive (ick!)

OK. So I tried again, made the file offline, and now it worked.
Fun fact. The file was out of Dropbox for a while, in my trash. When I retrieved it from the trash and put in Dropbox, it has synced in a second. The other file I put along, took some time syncing. Also, I noticed that the other file took some time to get available offline. It looks like Dropbox engine has somehow recognized the file and used its copy from cache, instead of transferring the whole file again).- Walter11 months agoDropbox Staff
