Super slow downloads in browser

Hello

I tried to share a file (600 MB) with someone and he told me, the download was super slow. Almost 1 hour (he has a 50MBit connection). So I tried to download it by myself and the result was the same. Always around 200kb/sec, even I do have a 16MBit connection.

I tried to download the same file from my Google Drive account. Google Drive provided max download speed.

Just to be really sure, I'd send the link to a 3rd person. Same results.

So I am paying 10 EUR per month but cannot really use dropbox, as all downloads seem to take like... forever!

So whats the point in slowing down downloads while - on the other hand - you offer me 1 TB. How am I supposed to use this big ammount of space, if downloads are that slow? I really don't get it.

Bo

Would love to have an answer here as well. Downloads have been slower than in the middle ages in the last couple of weeks.

Can someone let us know when this is gonna end?

    Thank you

We have exactly the same problem. Since 2 weeks the downlaod via link/browser is extremely reduced. A 600 MB file takes 7 hours (we have a 50 MBs down line; the download use of DROPBOX is 1,4%). We have DROPBOX BUSINESS. There seems to be no interest on side of DB to solve the problem. We'll take next steps.

I already canceled my subscription. No help, no support - just some automated answers from someone who didnt really read my mail and just clicked on some buttons to generate an answer that didnt match my problem.

Even my owncloud installation on a 6 bugs webspace is faster. No more Dropbox Pro for me.

Same issue, we're using just the browser, and files are so freakin slow, we're talking an hour to download a 17meg file. I notice it slowing after making a few downloads, then it comes to a screaching halt, like they're throttling down the useage or something. It's super frustrating and makes the service completely useless. I'll switch to something else. I had a "tech support" issue going back and forth and after convincing him it wasn't my browser, cache, download speed, first born, whatever, they left it at 'try the app' so I quite the discussion.

Crazy slow again, 2nd file this morning downloading glacially slow. Since taking the screenshot the time has gone up to 1 hour remaining. Everything else on the network is running smoothely including IP phones, Google Doc downloads, streaming.

Any help on this? We have the same issue. At the office we have great bandwidth. I can regularly download from google drive at fast speeds. Dropbox takes ~10 minutes to download a 60mb file. What's happening to make this so slow?

Alot of stuff can be the cause of it. The browser, where you are downloading from, the servers from where you are downloading may not be as fast as others, there are things like clearing the cache of the browser and clearing temp files can also help speed up things.

Thx for the info. Good thing is it's pretty much been normal for a while now. I haven't seen this issue in some time.
