Camera upload from different phones into different folders
Hello,
I have created a new folder "Camera upload Karla" where I want my wifes iPhone to automatically upload photos to.
This seems not to be so easy, as Dropbox on a phone will only upload to "Camera Upload" folder. Is this correct?
How can I make her iPhone upload automatically to the new folder?
Thank you

I have the same issue, my iPad, my phone and my wife's phone all upload into the same folder. My iPad is for work, my phone and my wife's phone are primarily for personal and family stuff, it is a real pain to sort through it all. Since I am paying for the 1 TB service, I think allowing separate folders for camera uploads from different devices is a valuable and highly desired service you really should provide. Thank you.

Yes. I have 2 phones and a tablet and I *really* need them to upload/sync photos etc. into their own folders in my dropbox account. Almost impossible to keep track of what I need trying to sort through a couple gigabytes of pics for the ones from a particular device. There must be a lot of people with similar needs.

I have pictures in different devices and I need to keep them separate. I am using camera upload to get the pictures on dropbox, but it's a mess if the pictures from all the devices go into the same folder. I want to tell each device which folder within my dropbox account it should upload to. Is that possible? and how?
Thanks

I was hoping there was a way to do this also... it would be a nice feature to add!
- Benjamin G.2New member | Level 1
That this feature is missing is such a pain point. I have multiple devices and that they are all dumping into the same folder is a nightmare. This can't be a hard feature to implement. Please, Dropbox!

Please, please implement this! At least for paying users!

Seriously need this. Paid account feature! Please?

Hi Bjarn,
Thanks for your feedback.
Currently, this is not possible. All photos uploaded via a Dropbox account go to the same "Camera Upload" folder.A workaround would be to open an account in her name so that she has her own Camera Upload folder.
I've passed over your request to our teams, thanks for taking the time to give it and stay tuned for the updates!
- nishdomNew member | Level 2Claire - I noticed this thread is from July of 2015. Did this feature get implemented yet? If so, how can I set this up?

Hi,
I'd like to ask whether is there any follow up to this matter? Recently bumped into this problem and saw this was dated close to 2 years ago.
Hope to hear back soon!
Thanks

It is my opinion that Dropbox does not want to do this because they believe that they will sell more accounts this way.
Their answer to this issue has always been "Dropbox was not designed to backup more than one phone at a time. If you want to keep your data seperate you will need to purchase seperate accounts for each phone"
Considering the number of requests for this and the number of years this has been requested this is obviously a marketing decision and has nothing to do with technology or what the customer wants.
Dropbox please prove me wrong. Please show us that you actually care about what the customer wants and not just corporate profits.
There are some moderately functional alternatives to do this for Android but unfortunatley none for the iPhone (I don't think Apple would allow a program in the iStore that could possibly take sales away from iCloud storage).

I'll add my voice to this. I NEED this feature!

me too. hate the gigantic mega pile of unorganizable photos

This is such a needed feature. It is such a pain to have photos from all devices jumbled together in the same folder! Please, Dropbox, add this feature! As a software engineer, I know it can't be that difficult to add this as a setting in the app!
- nick e.10New member | Level 1
Yes. It doesn't have to be complicated, and by all means keep it a feature only on the paid version - the ability to upload & sync from each of your own devices to separate named folders in your own dropbox account.

If you don't want to wait for Dropbox to implement this (and that could be a long time), you can get this functionality & lots more with the PhotoSync app, available for iOS & Android
