Links in Excel

Hi

I have created an excel file in desktop app and uploaded into Dropbox. I also have pdf files that I have uploaded also.  I want to create links from the spreadsheet to the pdfs. I opened the spreadsheet in excel for the web and created the links. All looks fine but i can only open the links if the sheet is in edit mode or right click and select an option,

I want the users to be able to click and the link opens the file without the additional step. Is it because I have edited it in excel for the web. Do i have to edit in Google Sheets and apply the links?

thanks

When creating a shared link, did you follow the steps outlined here?

Do you mean that you’re unable to click on the link directly, and open your files, if you’re just previewing the Excel sheet on the Dropbox website, and you haven’t opened it via Excel for the web? Feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see, too.

You can also try a different browser, in this case, to see if that works.

Also, since you have the desktop app installed on your computer, you can try creating the shared links to your PDFs via the app directly, and then editing the Excel sheet from your computer.

    Does that seem to help?

    Let me know.
