    Hi all,

Have had the sync problem for several days now and upon trying to solve the issue, I quit OneDrive, basically the solution to my problem. Machine is peaceful now, no more heating of the laptop, no more 6000+rpm fans. I guess Onedrive and Dropbox continuously sync the same files, as the other program "changes" something in the file, although it is nothing of the sort.

When using multiple cloud sync storage programs, do not store the same file in a folder you sync with the other program, that could be a solution.

    Cheers!

    Leen

Interesting, Leen K. I do actually also have OneDrive running, nobody had suggested that before.  I am going to try this right away.  Maybe this will solve the problem.

On our end, the past week and a half has been clean - no instances of this particular bug as far as I'm aware. Dropbox is our only cloud storage solution, so I guess there are multiple triggers to the same generic issue.

Hi there idanfo, I hope you're well today!

Just to confirm, which version of the app is causing this syncing issue? Are you possibly using a beta version denoted xx.3.xxx?

Please also let me know which OS and version you're computer is running, so that I can suggest accurate troubleshooting steps.

    Keep me posted - thanks!

hello i am experiencing the indexing issue. i tried the hardlink and permission fix without any success. The number of files indexing is the same without any reduction over time. see screenshot attached. Before trying the abovementioned fixes, the number of files indexing was 28.

Hi l0uis, welcome to the Community.

Have you, by any chance, tried to unlink-relink your desktop app? Do you see any difference after doing so?

If not, please let me know what’s the exact OS of your device, and we’ll take it from there.

Give me a nudge, when you’ve got more updates!

        Hello Nancy,

unlinking and relinking the account has fixed the issue. Great relief as the dropbox app was slowing down my pc at a great extend.

        Thank you for your support

        Loizos
