File request uploads show that it was modified by me instead of the sender

When a user uploads files via a file request link, the files show as being last modified by me, not the uploader.
I tried with the uploader both signed in and signed out, no difference.
I really need to see the uploader in the last modified field.

  • Hi KEAlt, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

As the file is being uploaded to the Dropbox site, even if the user is signed in, it would be seen as created by you. The 'modified by' field on the Dropbox site would only be different if you were in a shared folder with other users, and they modified the files.

Currently, there isn't a method to change this. However, the files should have the name of the uploader as part of the file name.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

I'm confused. Only one of my folders had the option in the naming convention interface to use the sender name.
Luckily I could make that folder the root folder and set every sub-folder to use its naming convention.
Do you know why only one folder has that option?

You should get the option for the sender's name when adding a naming convention in a folder you chose to use for the file requests.

Ok that's unfortunate, but as long as I can see who it's from, that's all I really need.
      Thank you
