How can I upload files to someone else's folder without affecting my own space?
I'm working on a job where I've been asked to upload my files to the company Dropbox. They created a folder with my name, but when I follow the link, It says "your dropbox is full" and tells me I have to upgrade. I removed my free 2gb Dropbox account years ago. Apparently Dropbox still has me on the list. Shouldn't I be able to upload my files to the folder created for me by the company without purchasing storage myself? I don't need those files save on a personal Dropbox, espceially one I did not know I had.

Hey StopThis, thanks for joining our Community.
Indeed, if you've been given edit access to a folder, the folder needs to be added to your account for you to upload files in it.
If you want to upload files to someone else's Dropbox account, without affecting your space, they'll need to send you a file request.
I hope this helps and if you have further questions, let me know.

Thanks for the reply. I got an email from the boss with an invitation to edit the work folder. It included a button "Add to Dropbox". Clicking this button gives me the choice of using a Google or Apple account to enter. I choose my Google account, enter my Password and it just hangs. with the little square going round and round. An incorrect password would give that message.

Thanks for the update, StopThis.
This would still be an invitation to edit the folder, which requires you to use your own space.
It just means that you're signing in to Dropbox with your Google account.
If your account doesn't have enough space to add the folder, the best way to go about it is the file request option.
I hope this clarifies things!
