link generates error (400), but copy-paste works

I have sent an email containing a view-only link to a folder that I own. When a recipient clicks the link, they get error (400) but if they copy and paste the link into their browser, the link takes them to the folder.

I've never had this problem before. This is a regular folder (i.e. I'm not a Teams user). The total size of the files in the folder is about 700KB.

  • I think I figured out the problem - I'm trying to send the link through Meetup.com messaging, and looking at the link, it's munging the link.

    Thanks for your quick reply!

The email client is doing something dodgy to the link - possibly breaking it across multiple lines in this case.

As you can get the link to work on a copy/paste the link is active its just the code behind it that is, well, dodgy!

If it happens again next time try sending the emails to Support via www.dropbox.com/support but I'd say its an issue with there email software :)
