Links created on the computer and pasted in Excel don't work
Hi
I have a spreadsheet that contains dropbox links. I use Excel on the web in creating and editing. When my colleague edits the spreadsheet she will use the desktop version from the "open with......

You are correct - the links are because you used the local computer. They will be specific to the device they were made on.
Unfortunately they wont work if you do the website either - the web versions have no 'link' to any other file. The web Excel has no capacity to do this

Hi DebraV! Since it sounds like your colleague is using the Dropbox Desktop App , you can advise them they can right click the file and select "Copy link" which will be the Dropbox Shared Link

Just to clarify though - that doesnt work like what links in Excel do which could be used to pull data through from another spreadsheet, or, return data to that spreadsheet. It will simply allow you to add a 'button' of sorts to Excel to open a different spreadsheet in a new web page.
