Hey JStak, can you also share the app's syncing status with me?
Is it possible that the files/folders you can't see locally have some invalid characters that prevent them from syncing?

This first began maybe a couple weeks ago. Files seemed to have disappeared from the app. I am operating Windows 11 and Dropbox v205.4.5765. Not sure if that is the correct information you're requesting.
From the Dropbox app taskbar when I right-click & ask to show the file in File Explorer it opens the file in the web browser, not in File Explorer.

That was the issue!! I have removed the invalid characters and now theyre appearing in File Explorer! THANK YOU!
