Shared Folder Size

My friend shared a folder with me that has <1GB,  but when I try to open it in my account, it says that the folder is too big (8GB) for my plan, and offers me upgrade plans. Do folders size actually multiply when shared?

  • Hi Walter!

He did that and still got the same issue for a while. Then, after a couple of days, it just fit to the right size... I guess it just took longer to sync...

Thank you all for your thoughts and your time!

    Hi Fernando F

No they dont. However, if its saying it is 8gb in size then thats what it is I'm afraid.

Do you need read only access? If so could you ask for a shared link instead?

Hi Mark. Thanks for your response.

No, I need editing permission. And my friend just double checked, and his folder really is under 1GB!

Hey Fernando F, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you have your friend copy the content of the folder into a new folder and then try to share that one?

If you still get the same error when trying to add it to your account, please send us a screenshot of the exact message you get and clarify how much quota you've got left in your plan tab

        Thanks!
