My files take a long time to sync on my MacBook desktop app.
It is taking a very long time to sync files with MacBook. Rest of team uses PCs and not having the same issues. Documents that I create or edit on my Mac are not syncing. I've tried pausing sync and restarting and that usually restarts the sync, but this is not a workable solution in a fast-paced office. Solutions, please??

Thanks for letting us know about this, Wendy Craig!
Can you clarify the current syncing status and app version that you see on your Dropbox app?
I’d also like you to right-click on your local Dropbox folder, go to the “Get info” option from the drop-down menu and send me a screenshot of the next window you’ll see. If it shows that it’s calculating the size of your files, please give it a minute till the process is done.
Let me know once you have more details.

DropBox tells me it is syncing 5 files, never tells me that I am up to date. When I hit "sync issues", it tells me that I don't have any sync issues. Version is 219.4.4463.

Thanks for the screenshot! It looks like your Dropbox folder currently contains more than 300k files within, which could be the culprit for the performance issues you’re having (you can also read more details here).
If you have any large folders that you don’t need synced locally, can you please remove them from the desktop app with the use of selective sync and let me know if there's any change to the app’s behavior?

There are no folders that I can move out of the desktop app. This is a law office and we need access to all of these folders. Do you have another solution? Is DropBox unable to manage this account? Do I need to switch to Box?

I am a solo practitioner. I do not understand how DropBox for Business is unable to handle my files??

Hi Wendy Craig, we appreciate your feedback.
In general, we don't recommend syncing over 300,000 files to your machine, even if the files are online-only, as this does affect the performance of the Dropbox desktop application, resulting in potential issues like this.
This is a soft limit and depends highly on the hardware specifications of the computer running the app. Some customers can sync more files without issue, such as your other colleagues using PCs.

So is there a known problem with syncing with MacOS. I'm running Sequoia 15.3.1. My MacBook has 24 GB of memory and is M4 Pro processor.

Currently, there aren't any known issues when syncing Mac OS devices or with Windows and Linux devices.
