I have stopped automatically downloading videos to my Mac. Folders appear in the finder and videos are also visible, but to download I need to try to open each one separately so that the download starts. What could be the problem?69Views0likes9CommentsFiles are suddenly zero kb
Hi, I have browsed through the forums, but couldn't find any relevant posts. I have a few documents that are several years old, SUDDENLY they are zero kb and cannot be opened. I haven't really changed anything in my set up. (I am on a Mac, Monterey, OSX 12.6.1, but I'm pretty sure the problem was there even before I updated to Monterey) The issue relates to BOTH offline and online files, i.e. they are zero kb both online and in my local folder! I have tried switching between "make files available offline" and "online only" but to no avail. Please help, since these are quite important files. Thanks//Oscar1.9KViews1like10CommentsMy Mac desktop app no longer syncs to my Dropbox account online.
Hi all I'm sure this has come up many times before but I can't find an answer. Folders/files which I have created on my Mac have not been syncing to my online Dropbox account since April 2024 (only realised it today). Also, files which my wife has created in a shared folder do not appear on my mac though they do appear in my own and my wife's online account. So this is definitely an issue with my Mac not syncing. I'm thinking that I need to uninstall the app from my mac and reinstall it but I am concerned that I will lose recently created folders/files as they have not uploaded to my online account. Should I be concerned? Or should I go ahead and uninstall/reinstall the app on my mac?126Views0likes5CommentsWaiting to sync (Mac)
Since yesterday, Dropbox won't sync files on my iMac. The app constantly says 'syncing 175 files', but nothing happens Manual upload does work. So apparently there is nothing wrong with the internet connection. I have a 6.25 GB account with only 2.8 GB in use. I have already uninstalled the Dropbox app and downloaded and installed the latest version. Restarting the Mac doesn't solve anything either I looked on my Mac for the cache to empty it, but I can't find it. I recently significantly reorganized my Dropbox folders, could that be a cause? Strange though is that after that at least one file was automatically synced. When I click "View sync issues," there are no sync issues.Solved4.1KViews1like43CommentsFiles on my Dropbox desktop app on Mac 15.1 are not syncing elsewhere
Dear Community members, I have been using Dropbox Plus for the last 4-5 years without any issue. In the last month or so my files have gotten stuck and won't sync. I primarily use Dropbox on my Mac, but also need to view files on my Android device. More importantly, my team members are also unable to access files I place on Dropbox on my desktop. I have tried Quitting Dropbox and re-lauching as well as restarting my Mac. However, those don't seem to be working at all. In fact I updated my MacOS from 13.2 to 15.1 thinking that may help, but no. Will be grateful for your support.272Views0likes5CommentsMy files in my Dropbox folder have cloud icons, how can I get them local on my Mac?
Hi! I have been a paying client of Dropbox for several years and must now opt out of this. Actually, that happened automatically when I forgot to update my card number and was, therefore, downgraded. So now, I have files representing 8,000 percent or some outrageous number of what I can have as a non-paying customer. My Mac has about 800GB of files out of a 1TB drive. And it used to show about 200GB of free space. Oddly enough, the moment my subscription did not renew, and I have no idea whether it is a coincidence or not, I now have 500GB of free space. That is to say about 300GB are offline. And I never asked for that. And that happened in about 24 hours. Also, when looking at the folder hierarchy, there are tons of incoherences: a folder will show a little cloud (meaning, the thing is queued for upload, so definitely offline), but then when I look inside the folder, many files have the cloud with the little arrow pointing downward (only online). That happens all over my dropbox folder that lives in the right place and I never touch it, or tweak the dropbox app setting because everytime I do, weird thing start happening and suck up my time at a high rate. So I am puzzled. I still want to downgrade, but I have no clue why my files are dancing up and down without me telling them to do anything, while some folders cannot be moved, but their content can. I feel like I am dispossessed of my files and that is not a nice feeling. Would someone have a solution that does not look like "sorry sir, but you will have to renew your subscription in order to access your files". Or maybe, just maybe, am I getting paranoid? 🙂Solved229Views0likes1CommentThe "Copy Dropbox link" option is missing on Finder and new files are no longer syncing.
I have created a new file for a client who shared his folder and the file did not come through. I checked on my mobile app and the files aren't in there. I also checked on my web browser and the new files do not appear there either. I noticed that when i right-click on any file in my Dropbox in Finder, whether folder of file, the "Copy Dropbox Link" from the drop down menu is missing. I relaunched Finder and also rebooted my MAC and this has not worked. This is new as I worked on a bunch of files the previous night and it all synced and worked perfectly. Can someone please help me.422Views0likes3Comments
