Hi all, I have devices linked to my own dropbox account -- one is my work desktop and the other is my laptop. I had no problem reading all the files on both computers until this year. Now, suddenly, whatever I do on one computer doesnt sync to the other, and vice versa.Solved40Views0likes4CommentsOnline only option isn't working on Mac OS
Hey all, I've recently had some trouble with Dropbox files taking up hundreds of GBs on my Mac's internal storage. When I select "Make file online-only," nothing happens. My Dropbox version is 219.4.4463, and my macOS version is Sonoma 14.6.1. I’d appreciate any help! Thanks.24Views0likes3CommentsHow can I find which folders have been unchecked via selective sync on my Mac desktop app?
I want to make sure that I'm syncing my entire Dropbox to my Mac. Apparently I've unchecked folders in Selective Sync - but when I try to find out which one, they all appear to be checked. I've just spent an hour going through my entire folder structure and all the boxes are checked. Is this a bug? -- I can't seem to add a screenshot or link for some reason. I'm getting an "invalid HTML" error...40Views0likes3CommentsCan Dropbox back up Logic Pro Project Files?
I use Logic Pro to record my music projects on a Mac. I have an external drive connected to my Mac that I use as a primary backup for my music projects. I also have this external drive automatically backing up to Dropbox. I assumed it was backing up everything. I just noticed it is backing up everything in my folders other than the Logic Pro Project file. When I look at the backup on Dropbox, instead of seeing the ~600mb Logic Project file, I see three folders it created instead, with a some of the audio files from my project but not the entire file. In other words, what is backed up is totally different than what is on my external drive (which matches the original version on my hard drive). Has anyone seen this? The main reason I starting using Dropbox for backup's is because Apple iCloud could not handle the Logic Pro Project files. I just assumed this was an Apple thing, but maybe its something else? Thanks for your help.635Views1like6CommentsMy files take a long time to sync on my MacBook desktop app.
It is taking a very long time to sync files with MacBook. Rest of team uses PCs and not having the same issues. Documents that I create or edit on my Mac are not syncing. I've tried pausing sync and restarting and that usually restarts the sync, but this is not a workable solution in a fast-paced office. Solutions, please??35Views0likes10CommentsOne of my Mac devices doesn't sync content from my Dropbox folder online.
This subject line has come up before, but my problem is not caused by filenaming errors. I have dropbox on four computers; everything syncs fine except on one laptop: the laptop will update files that are edited on other machines, but anything I edit on the laptop will not sync to the desktop machines. This includes file edits, moving files/folders around and folder/file renaming. None of the relevant files are shared with other people, only with my account. I've checked everything to do with firewalls and permissions, all of which are as they should be, reinstalled dropbox, logged out and in, restarted computer and updated operating systems. There is plenty of space in the Dropbox Pro account and on the laptop hard drive (and the hard drives of all other machines). All machines are running MacOs Ventura 13.7.4. All are correctly connected to the internet and have LAN sync enabled. Some of the sync icons on the laptop show the blue active circle, but those are files that are updating from the other machines. Some files on the laptop have the red x and I cannot get them to upload to the cloud. I have tried making all the files offline only, to force them to sync to the cloud, but those that do show the cloud icon, are still not updating to the other machines. I have tried making the entire dropbox on this computer 'offline only', but still none of the files are updating/uploading. There are no error messages, but the activity monitor seems to be permanently 'updating files'; only a few MB, but even leaving it chunking along overnight does not clear the updating queue.95Views0likes14CommentsMy Dropbox account is syncing forever, and the number isn't changing on Mac
It has a disconnected symbol on the icon and says that it is syncing 28 files, but it never finishes. I am on a macbook pro. Dropbox has full disk access. My internet is connected. My security setting and network restrictions have not been changed in the last week and it stopped working yesterday. I am not getting a disk full error. My files are listed as online-only. I don't know what that means and I am afraid to change it. I reinstalled Dropbox a couple of times. I found a suggestion to go to Admin console:Settings:Advanced data protection, but Advanced date protection is not listed in my Admin console:Settings. Even if it did, what is a backup key? Out of options here. Help please.27Views0likes4CommentsPlugging in my phone to my computer uploads duplicate Camera Uploads files
Hello all, sorry if it exist already (did not find the response to this): I use my iPhone SE (2) app to automatically do the camera upload, which works fine to get the media on the dropbox. But, sometimes I plug in my phone (MacOS catalina, maybe also with Windows 10) to charge and dropbox copies all media again as dublicates. The photos were not edited in any way. Anything I can do to prevent this?29Views0likes3CommentsI can't sync files after upgrading to Sequoia, why?
Ever since the Sequoia Upgrade my Dropbox has not been syncing across my 3 devices. I have followed all of the troubleshooting suggestions without any luck. I just uninstalled and reinstalled as my last resort and still nothing. Has anyone else been having this issue?Solved1.6KViews0likes12Comments
