Trying to understand "online only" mode on my Mac desktop app

I have a Dropbox Plus acount. I am trying to figure out the Dropbox  "online only" feature on my MAC to save space on my hard drive. Here is a screen shot. Does this mean files are in my Dropbox account in  "online only" mode? So, they are not taking up space on my hard drive? Thx for your wisdom.

Also, for some reason, my iPhone version of Dropbox shows that the last item added was November 2023. Is there a way to reset my iPhone so that it is the same as my files in Dropbox?

Hey admakr! Thanks for posting on our forum.

To clarify, have you set the entire folder to be online-only, or select files within the folder instead? Feel free to send me one more screenshot of the syncing icons showing next to your files, if you wish.

What’s the current syncing status of your Dropbox app?

As for your iPhone, can you also check www.dropbox.com and make sure everything is up to date there?

Keep me posted for any updates.

Thanks, Nancy. In Finder [on my MAC, the folder looks like this [attached image]. I believe the cloud icon next to the folder indicates it is "online only," right? For whatever reason, the Dropbox icon in the top right menubar of my MAC does not appear to be up-to-date, however.

Thanks for that! From your screenshot, it looks like you’re seeing this syncing icon. Since your Dropbox folder is under Locations, it seems that you’re currently running the Dropbox app on File Provider.

Can you clarify what you see as the app’s syncing status though?
