Hey fellas, thanks for the reports!
From the looks of it, it appears that y'all are running a beta (or experimental) build of the Dropbox desktop application - these are denoted by the second row of digits so keep in mind that if you see that you're on a build of this format: XX.3.XX, it means that you're using a beta version of our desktop app whereas the official, stable ones should look like XX.4.XX.
Since our beta builds are still in the testing process, you could experience some issues or an inconsistent experience.
As a first step to isolate the issue you've recently noticed, I'd highly recommend that you install our latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop application.
To do this, you will first need to follow these steps to verify that you have opted out of "Include me in early releases" option in your settings on Dropbox.com. This will ensure that the application does not automatically update to the beta build after you install the latest stable build:
- Log in to www.Dropbox.com using your web browser.
- Click on you account picture/avatar at the top right corner of the page.
- Click on "Settings".
- From the "General" tab, scroll down to the section titled "Preferences" and uncheck the box next to "Include me in early releases" if it is checked.
Then, use the link from the following page to install the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop application according to your computer's OS:
https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Desktop-client-builds/Stable-Build-70-4-93/m-p/337541#M5248
Once you install the stable build, it might take some time to re-index the files and sync any pending changes but you should be good to go.
Please let us know the results. Thank you!

Already forgot that I'm on early releases! Just moved to the stable release, no such problem here. Thanks!
- Fede G.6 years agoHelpful | Level 6Hi, I’m not using any betas at least not willingly.
In fact after I got this error first thing I did was to download the latest official version to update my desktop app.
I just checked the web version and yes I had the early version checked on. Now if I download the build you linked will that replace the beta one I have?- Walter6 years agoDropbox Staff
Could you share a screenshot of the exact status as shown on your desktop app Fede G. ?
SpoilerYou can always look at the Dropbox icon in your taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) and see if it is done syncing. When Dropbox is fully synced then you should see a tick followed by the words “Up to date” on the menu. If you do not see this then can you please let me know what the message being displayed reads?
Thanks!

I'm at work now so I can't see my personal dropbox, but as you said I did have the Early accsess check ON in the web version so I guess it has to be that. I checked it OFF now.
But my question is, will the desktop version I have at home "downgrade" from the beta to the stable one by itself or should I download the one you provided in he link and install that one?
