I migrated my Dropbox files from the old MacBook to the new and they got duplicated.

Hi,

I just migrated all of my documents from my old Macbook Air to my New Macbook Air.
- This included my DropBox files that were on my old Macbook Air, that are syncing with my Dropbox Account in the cloud.

On my new Macbook Air, it is now asking me if:  I would like to start syncing the Dropbox App.
- If I say Yes, will I get duplicated files on my new MacBook Air (as I already have the files on my new MacBook Air?

So appreciate any guidance/help that you can give.

Thanks,

Marion

    Hey

Long as you point it to that folder it will recognise what you already have, reindex and start syncing changes.

It almost certainly will look like its downloading/uploading/deleting/leaving and joining shares etc. but ignore the popups and you'll be fine. It may take quite a bit of time, however, to do if you have a large Dropbox directory so do be prepared.

FYI, all of the dropbox files on my MacBook Air are in folders.
