MacOS: No "Dropbox" in the "Location" settings of Finder
I have updated Dropbox on MacOS (12.6.5), and I have learned that I should know be able to see "Dropbox" in Finder on the left hand pane under 'Locations'. However there is no such entry; 'Locations'...

Hey rovf, thanks for letting us know about this.
Can you please hover your mouse over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar, to see the sync status and the version of the app?
Also, if you go to ~/Library/CloudStorage, are you able to find the Dropbox folder?
Let me know and we'll go from there.

In Finder, it seems Dropbox won't appear by default under "Locations". If you go to Finder > Settings… > Sidebar, you can put a check mark next to the items you want to be visible in the Finder sidebar. You have to check Cloud Storage (under Locations) for Dropbox to appear in the Finder sidebar.

Hello, I have the Cloud storage option checked, but I still cannot see the Dropbox in Locations in Finder. I can access Dropbox from the Dropbox app using the "Open Dropbox folder" option, or by opening the /Users/%user%/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox (add it to the Favorites section)
I had Dropbox in the Locations section after installing the new version of the app, but I lost it after reboot and it is not coming back 🙂

Hi liviuteod, how are you today?
Have you tried the steps that maxymouse mentioned above?
You should be able to open Finder, click Finder in the top-left of your screen, then please access Preferences (macOS 12 or earlier) or Settings… (macOS 13 or later).
Click the Sidebar tab. Under Locations, check Cloud Storage.Keep me posted on any updates!

I find this recommendation a bit problematic, as I don't have the mentioned "Cloud Storage" entry in my Finder/Preferences
On he Sidebar tab, I see under Locations:
my iMac
Hard Disks
External Disks
CDs, DVDs, ...
Bonjour Computers
ConnectedServers
(this is running macOS 10.15.7)

Hey rovf, sorry to jump in here, but could you send us a screenshot of the app's exact status and version of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar at the moment?
Also, can you navigate to the app's preferences under the sync tab and check the Dropbox folder's location for us?
