Status icons change - shows 'grey cloud icon', while it should be a 'green transparent V check' icon
Subject: Status icon bug
Whenever all files are made offline available, it should display a 'full green V check icon'.
this is not always the case. I'm not too bothered with it though because if the link can be copied, i'm ok.
But here is the thing, whenever a file is offline (full green V check) available amongst online files (grey cloud icon) in the same folder,
the subfolder where it's in, should have a 'transparent green V check icon'.
Also the main folder where the subfolder is in should have a 'transparent green V check icon'.
But the folders have a 'grey cloud icon' instead.
Why i find this highly annoying is that i only have 500GB space on my HDD - But my Dropbox can hold 4TB. (it's the reason why i work entirely in Db)
Whenever i need to make space quickly, i check my folders that have a - full green V check, or trans green V check / and make it 'only online available'
But since a few weeks it doesn't display the right status anymore (just grey clouds everywhere).
And when i'm too late to act on the notification that my drive is getting too full, my whole system starts to hang,
from there it gets even worse because when that happens DropBox stops syncing as well. Making the situation unable to make room.
the only solution for me then is to delete some files in order to make Dropbox work again and continue with 'online' sync the files before it started hanging.
It used to work fine! are you aware of this and is this going to be fixed / reversed?
Cheers!

Thanks for your reply Hannah,
And don't take it personal of course 🙂 I really appreciate that your response is so quick.
It's just that it's so frustrating that every once in a while Dropbox keeps changing things that first worked perfectly fine until it's been changed for an unclear reason. it seems like the changes just happen without an internal brainstorm whether it's a good idea or not. Because i can't imagine there is noone of the developers team that in the middle of the process, raises his hand to say, 'erm, nope! wait!'
I've taken this from the topic you've sent me, because hits the nail exactly where the problem starts:

A folder’s sync icon will depend on what files are contained within that folder.
For example:
- If a folder contains at least 1 online-only file then the folder’s sync icon will be online-only
- If a folder contains zero online-only files and at least 1 available file then its sync icon will be the available icon
- If a folder contains only available offline files then its sync icon will be available offline
//
Exactly! Where is the icon that indicates that there are 'only online files' inside the folder? Because that's the one we need to see at one glance which folder need to be actually put entirely to 'online only' to make some space on the computer really quick - when the notifications starts to rain in that there is no more space left on the hard drive. Come on, i can't imagine that a developer reading this, couldn't think of that this change would make it all so much more complex.
I hope this will be an internal topic to reverse this change 🙏
I'm not (i think noone) paying all this money to climb back and post about another thing that was working perfectly until something weird out of nowhere came to really destroy my workflow, again...
Thanks for your time Hannah! 😬🙏
