My free trial for Dropbox Plus is ending and I can't change the billing cycle

Hi, I'm on free trail for Dropbox Plus which ends soon and i want to be on the monthly plan once my trail ends. When i was signing up for dropbox trial, I selected the yearly subscription. I'm afraid...

    It won't be lost. Syncing will stop if you're over quota, and newer files will be lost if you remain over quota for a long time (months!), but nothing will happen in the time needed to get the account upgraded again.

Is there no other way besides cancelling it? I have data that is over 2 GB that will need to be downloaded somewhere before I downgrade because it will be lost (I am assuming) when I cancel the trail
