Nobody have this issue or know whats wrong?

It's likely just trying to update itself as auto-updates are pushed out as needed. If you ignore them, the software will eventually be unable to communicate with Dropbox.

same with me. I can not re-install and keep asking for UAC.
- MarkSuper User IIThe only solution is a reinstall I'm afraid.
If its on a work network I'd suggest speaking to them. You may find that you are unable to continue to use Dropbox without upgrading the software as they have depreciated lots of old versions recently.

I know there is already a thread covering this error - it is marked solved, so I can't comment - none of the solutions work for me.
Using Windows 8.1 - problem has appeared in the last few weeks.
every 10 minutes a very distracting User Account Control message box starts flashing. The only way to get rid of it is to click through the UAC black screen every 10 minutes.
I have tried uninstalling Dropbox.
It then becomes inpossible to reinstall Dropbox due to an error.
Then the only way I can reinstall is in safe mode.
When I reinstall the problem persists.
The only way I can stop the distraction is by turning dropbox off,
which is not a solution.
I have tried turning my firewall off - no change.
I have tried disabling / enabling the dropbox update service
I don't want to turn UAC off.
Are there any new solutions to this problem?
thanks in advance for any help
