Free team disbanded by Dropbox
Hi Team,
Can someone please help with an email I received as below? Not sure what it all means

At DB's suggestion a few years ago, I established a Shared Team account. Which has now been automatically disbanded. The email said it would be automatically converted to Basic/Personal, and this morning I had email that it was reaching capacity. I already have a personal account, so am I able to have two personal accounts now? Or is my only option to either pay an upgrade, or... dl all my 'Shared Team' files for safekeeping? I can't see a way to continue to sync to this folder/account. Also, the Shared Team folder has disappeared from my desktop/finder. I've already lost too much time trying to sort this out today, and I appreciate any help with this. Thanks. 🙂

Hey Coastal_Living, thanks for posting here!
It seems you're referring to the end of support for free teams.
If your account is full, then you'd need additional space in order to continue syncing. However, you should still have access to your content.
As for pairing two Dropbox accounts, one would need to be a personal one, and the other one would need to be a paid Business one, in order for this to happen.
If you have any questions, let me know.

@Megan, Thanks for your response. 🙂
So I reduced the files for the Shared Team acct (STA) so I'm well under the limit now. I did this web-based.However... if I understand, there's no way for me to sync the STA from my DT to DB unless I change it to a paid Business account? Since that would require me to pair the accounts?
TIA. 🙂

Hi Coastal_Living, hope you don’t mind me jumping in.
If your desktop app is currently linked to your personal account, and you’d like to have both syncing at the same time, then you’d need to upgrade to a paid Business plan indeed, like you mention.
You can check more details here, too.
Another option would be to log out of your personal account on your desktop app, and sign back in with the credentials of your previous business team instead.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, @ Nancy, that clarifies things for me. 🙂 Cheers!

I now have a paid account and the form "free teams" that is converted to DB basic. what do I need to do to link them both and have both available on my linked desktop (currently I have to sign out of one and log in to the other to switch between)

You cannot I'm afraid unless one is a paid BUSINESS account (ie. multiple licences)

Hi everybody,
same here.
I just received an email saying that my linked work account has been reverted to a regular personal account, therefore no more Team groups, even though I have a paid Plus subscription.
The files are still on my local folder, I cannot link back the Team account although I still see on my personal account the option "Link to a Team account". Of course, entering the Work account says: please enter a Team account 😕
What to do!? Whom should I contact?
