Apparently, users have asked for this for months--I've found requests for it going back into 2013.
Dropbox, we HAVE to get thumbnails that are bigger than a crummy half-inch in size! Dropbox is SO critical to so many things we do, and for it to be so shoddy at managing images is just so...well, 1995 Geocities of you! Seriously, this shouldn't even have to be an issue at this point; having large thumbnails (and/or an option to display them as a large "Tile" view instead of just a tiny left-edge "list" view) is simply obvious. It's the big flaw you haven't bothered to fix.

Time to look for other online storage solutions, besides Dropbox?
I am surprised to find SO many unanswered complaints about the thumbnail size. Joshua's 06/05/15 post states this quite clearly....

maybe they have gave up on reading the posts and instead track upvotes- try upvoting every request you see regarding thumbnail sizes and maybe it will register on their radar. look for other threads too- this is just one of many threads on the subject

Well, yeah--I mean, Dropbox hasn't given us larger thumbnails, have they? So unfortunately, I have to say that the issue persists. PLEASE give us larger thumbnails so we can properly manage our images.

yes we are still having issues with this and many many users are still requesting it. obviously from the generic response the staff isnt even taking the time to read this message but only respond to it with an automated message based on it's last activity date. sad because many people have been asking for this for a long time

Yes, this is a stupid flaw for Dropbox. Dropbox is SO advanced in so many ways, and yet they're stuck on 1996-era AOL-quality thumbnails, as if being able to clearly see your own files is some sort of novel idea that hadn't occurred to them. Upvote this topic, and harass Dropbox on Facebook until they listen! They could fix this in a day.

Hi there
Sorry for the delayed response - are you still having issues?

It's been well over a year since this thread was started and still no tile view. What's the issue? Google and One Drive have it. I just assumed Dropbox did as well.

Oh, it's been more than a year. I've found people posting requests for this for at least three years. Dropbox can't even be bothered to reply. I've emailed support directly, asked them on their Facebook page, and asked them on their Twitter account. Plus, there are NUMEROUS threads like this on the forum asking the same thing.
Dropbox won't even #@!$%ing acknowledge the question, or give us a basic answer.
I'm a photographer/artist, so having decent-sized thumbnails is ESSENTIAL for what I do.
You say Google and One Drive offer them? Hmmm. I might have to let this account expire and move to one of them instead.

They did finally reply to me. They said adding a larger thumbnail was "not possible" (How? How is it not possible to make thumbnails larger?), and that I should just sync my dropbox files into my dropbox desktop folder so I can use my computer's system thumbnails. Well, gee--that eliminates most of the reason for using Dropbox in the first place, which is to free up hard drive space by NOT having to keep the files in a folder on my computer. By that logic, unless I need to make those files accessible to another computer too, why not skip Dropbox entirely and just keep the files on my computer? Why am I paying them an annual fee to tell me to basically just keep files on my own computer folder that I want to view properly?
If they can't do this simple thing, I may indeed cancel and go to Google Drive, and just use the free Dropbox 5gb option for basic syncs. I'm an artist/photographer, and if they can't handle something as basic as thumbnails and someone else can, it's time to move on.

PLEASE, Dropbox - You know the thumbnails are too small, especially if using a smartphone. I see that customers have been asking for this to be addressed for several years. I am a press photographer, using my other Dropbox account for access to several years worth of photos. Thousands of them. Very often I need to select from groups of shots which are very similar to each other. Dropbox makes this process very laborious. So laborious, in fact, that I often give up using Dropbox on my smartphone out of frustration and anger and wait until I get home.
Not very professional, is it?
Being able to increase thumbnail size would be extremely practical and useful to working photographers. Please take us seriously.
