Account Access
1634 TopicsNot getting the access code for signing in
I have a dropbox account that I created to send videos and photos i have taken in concerts and trips, that I never ever ever want to lose. I was trying to log in to that account, but it says I need to get the access code that was sent to my email. I have not gotten the code. I tried clicking on the 'having issues getting access code' and it also did not help. I added no-reply@dropbox.comas a contact on my email account, and still nothing. I sent an email to support, and it also did not help me. This is my last resort. Please help me!! I became a Dropbox business team member by invitation. In Dropbox, personal folders and shared folders were divided. After I left the team, I went to the account I was invited to access my personal folder, but I had to re-join, so I couldn't check my personal folder. I want to restore the contents of my personal folder. What should I do?12Views0likes1CommentHow safe is Dropbox? Can they access user information?
I was going to start using Dropbox, but before creating an account, I came across the Privacy & Security concerns section on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropbox. And the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Dropbox expands on the information. So, in 2024, how safe IS Dropbox? Can Dropbox employees really access users' information & what about the claim that Dropbox has ownership of users' data?36Views0likes4CommentsI verified my email address, but it still appears to be unverified.
I get the verification email, click the link to verify my email, and it opens up a new dropbox window in Chrome, but the account email is still not verified after multiple attempts. It's a basic account so I can't talk to support. Any suggestions?20Views0likes4CommentsI'm trying to enter my account, but I'm asked for a code sent to an inaccessible email address.
I've got an account [removed per Community Guidelines] with lots of information in it. I've had this account for more than ten years. I recently lost access to this email account. I know the password. I have a new computer. When I attempt to log into the account, I am told that a message has been sent to the inaccessible email account with an access number I will need to log in. So, I can't log in because I can't get the number. I've tried the alternate form that allows you to enter other information to bypass the code, but it never accepts what I've entered. In 2021, I purchased a Dropbox plus account [removed per Community Guidelines] to increase my account storage. The two accounts appeared to have melded into one and I continued to add content. Now, all that appears in that account are two folders that were shared by others to the new account. I welcome any solutions or suggestions. I desperately need access to those data. Odd situation here. Bought a new computer, Windows 11, and have had trouble getting Dropbox operating properly. Since the computer was new, it wiped out the old register and settings. I have three devices I transfer Dropbox information among: an iPad, a laptop, and--most importantly-- my new desktop Win 11 computer. Everything is fine on my iPad and laptop. I was able to get my new desktop to find my account (long used a free one with 6.25GB --being 87 years old that's all I need) by installing and using the Firefox browser. However, whenever I use DuckDuckGo (or use LastPass, which is the default browser that LastPass uses) to try and access Dropbox I am set up with "new" account of 2GB. What??? My current account will share 3 devices and previous desktop was one of the three. Can't seem to fix this. By the way I am Dropbox client 2124.4.5767 Any help, please? What can I do?
Hi, can't recover my other (older) account, which is obviously associated to another mail. I tried to get a mail to create a new password but I didn't find anything in the "inbox" and "spam" folder. I've tried many times (I waited 24 hours because I tried too many times, but the situation is the same) Thank you for your attention.62Views0likes5CommentsDropbox purged my original account. How can I find the old one?
1. Drop box sent me an email notifying me of updates to a folder previously shared with me. See it: 2. When I clicked one of the links to view it, the Link took me to Drop Box's login/sign-up page: 3. I put in my Dropbox email (the email where DropBox sent me a notification, mentioned in my first sentence). I clicked "continue" and Dropbox revealed input fields for my first name, last name, password, etc... I realized the input fields were not typical for a login. Therefore, I tried unsuccessfully to find a true login page. Each time I found a "login" page, DropBox wanted me to "Sign up" So, I thought I must have to fill in the input fields to login. 4. I entered my name, etc., When I got to the "enter a password" field, I tried entering mine. It would not allow my password because DropBox now requires a special character. When my account was originally made, I didn't have to use a special character. The rules have changed. So, I added a special character to my original password. Basically, i went through the process of creating a new Dropbox account using an email to a previous account. DropBox did not recognize that my email was connected to an account. Instead, DropBox purged my original account anf gave me a new new account. All my stuff is gone. I believe the technical issue is that my old password did not use a "special character." DropBox now requires a special character in the password (they didn't when I originally created my account. And, this may have caused a problem with DropBox recognizing my email. Hence, DropBox made me sign in all over again and purge my original account. 5. The links in the Dropbox email no longer take me to the login page. Instead, I get this: Can you solve this issue and restore my original account?35Views0likes3Comments
