I'm a long-term user of Dropbox and I love it's use ability and function. To my dismay, in the past year or so I seem to have lost the ability to create Microsoft Word documents in Dropbox. This is a feature I used regularly, and now it seems to be a long and clumsy process. Let me explain how it used to work and now doesn't. I would go into Dropbox on my Android phone, Select the folder I wanted to create the Microsoft Word document in and then Select the "Plus Symbol" found in the blue circle :blue_circle: found floating on lower right hand corner (that option is still there) after selecting the Plus Sign we are presented with an option to "Create or upload file" After selecting that option, I would be presented with a drop-down list of files I could create. These would include the 3 native Dropbox options of "Paper" "Text File" & 'Upload Files" as well as a list of Microsoft file types, which included MS Word & Excel and maybe PowerPoint. I would then select MS Word, and a MS Word document would be created and MS Word App would be seamlessly be activated and away I would go, creating content and saving it safely in Dropbox. Happy days! Now unfortunately when I select "Create or upload file" only the 3 native Dropbox options appear, no longer can I select a Microsoft Document type. I'm not sure why this change has occurred, and there is a work around I've found, but it's clumsy and time consuming and certainly doesn't have the elegance of what I was used to with seamless integration and function. My question is, how can I get the elegant integrated "create" MS Word option/ solution in Dropbox back, I don't want a clumsy work around.491Views0likes7CommentsShow destination folder name/path for 'Share to Dropbox'
Android OS: Share>Upload to Dropbox>'Choose upload location': That dialog window does not show the name/path of the destination folder it is displayingto the user. Often this forces the user to tap 'back' several times to see what node of the folder tree the app will send the file(s) to. If the user hasn't done a recent 'Share>Add to Dropbox' operation, they have no memory of what the last destination folder path was. Please help the user know right away the name/path if the default destination folder. Thank you. P.S. I wish this feedback system would allow for screenshots to be uploaded.787Views2likes13CommentsCan I selectively sync certain folders on the Dropbox app on Android?
Hello, while it's very clear to me how to apply the selective synchronization on PC, I don't know how to apply it on Android. I have an old tablet and I'd like to synchronize only one folder in it. I didn't find the procedure. How can I do it? Thank you, LiciarovSolved489Views0likes3CommentsAndroid devices not syncing with my PC

Hi Dropbox Community, This is my first post here, and I’m hoping to get some advice regarding an issue I’ve encountered when syncing large files across multiple devices. I frequently work with large video files (between 5-10 GB), and while Dropbox generally handles them well, I've noticed that sync times seem inconsistent across different devices. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Ensuring all devices are connected to stable, high-speed internet Checking for available Dropbox updates Restarting Dropbox on both desktop and mobile Despite these efforts, the sync time still varies, especially between my desktop (Windows 11) and my mobile device (Android 13). Are there any specific settings or troubleshooting steps I might be overlooking? Could it be related to storage limitations, or does Dropbox handle large files differently across platforms? I appreciate any guidance or tips that you could share. Thank you in advance!132Views0likes1CommentHow to prevent automatic image file renaming when sending to Dropbox on Android
I'm on an Android phone. (Xiaomi Redmi Note 13) When I select some pictures in gallery and send them to Dropbox, they arrive on dropbox with all filenames messed up, even in reverse order if I browse them later. In Android phone gallery (original filenames): IMG_20240910_121015.jpg IMG_20240910_121020.jpg In Dropbox they end up like: 1726080697664.jpg 1726080697673.jpg As you can see the original file names contains a pretty and convinient date and time of when the picture has been taken, in dropfox folder instead they end up like maybe some sort of timestamp (of the upload time?) Is there an option to disable this unwanted behavior? Is maybe related to the "removing of personal information" phase happening just before the upload starts? The images are for my personal usage so I'd need also to disable this removal. Thank you.Solved551Views0likes3CommentsDropbox upload contextual menu on Android

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with uploading videos from my video editing app to my Dropbox account. I could really use some help figuring out what's going wrong. Basically, after I finish editing a video project, I try to export/share the final video file to my Dropbox folder. However, the upload to Dropbox always fails partway through or the video ends up being corrupted when I download it from Dropbox later. I've tried uploading videos, of different lengths and file sizes, but I keep having the same problem. The uploads start off fine, but then get stuck and never complete fully. I'm using the latest versions of the Dropbox app and my video editor app on an Android phone. My internet connection seems stable when the uploads are happening. Has anyone else experienced something similar when trying to transfer edited videos to your Dropbox? I've checked online but can't find a clear solution. Any tips on settings I should check, or steps I can take to ensure my edited video files upload to Dropbox properly without corruption? I need to reliably backup my final videos to the cloud after editing 🥰. Please let me know if you need any other details from me. Thanks so much in advance for any help or advice!1.1KViews0likes3Comments
