Hi, I have a free dropbox account and have used it for years to store a few basic excel spreadsheets that I use daily. I have a paid Microsoft 365 account that I use on my android phone and lenovo laptop. For some reason the last few days, I am unable to open my dropbox excel spreadsheets on my phone. When I try to open the spreadsheet I get a log in page saying "Log in or sign up to Dropbox to link with Microsoft Office Integration". I log in using my dropbox user and pw and it just sends me to my onedrive. I have tried deleting the dropbox and 365 apps on my phone and re installing and logging in. I have tried to open the dropbox files by going into excel first and then trying to open the dropbox spreadsheet. Just always sends me to the log in page. It all works fine on my laptop, and after saving, my dropbox android app shows the newly updated spreadsheet. Dont know what has happened. Please help.7.1KViews2likes29CommentsMy Word files are not getting saved to Dropbox on Android
Greetings to the Community, I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I have been experiencing with the Microsoft Word app on my Android tablet in conjunction with Dropbox. Previously, I was able to seamlessly save my Word documents to my Dropbox account by selecting "Save As" and choosing the Dropbox folder. However, for the past month, this process has ceased to function. Despite diligently following the same steps as before, my saved documents are no longer appearing in the Dropbox app, Dropbox Web, or my Dropbox desktop application on my laptop. Essentially, my work is not being uploaded to Dropbox. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter. Your expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Sincerely, Joseph2KViews0likes18CommentsQuestion about file name date_time format for Google Pixel/Google Backup/Google Photos/Dropbox users
Hello: For the first time tonight I noticed MP4 videos recorded on a Google Pixel 4a, with correct network time, had newer date_time info in the PXL_20240926_hhmmsssss.mp4 file name structure, than the actual capture time. I am pretty sure this happened via the process of backing up to Google Photos, and not the Dropbox upload process. I have to go look at my other file storage to confirm. I record with three Android phones, two of which have no sim cards. The latter two I sometimes transfer from by USB cable. The no-sim-card phones were used for a concert earlier and all files had the exact correct time info. This is critical to identify them in sequence and to find different views of same real-time events. So this is probably a Google Backup question for others you have hardware or experience similar to mine. Renaming files with later date & time seems to have no benefit, so I'm trying to figure out how to prevent/avoid this. Renaming with different date_time file names based on whatever random order they were backed up in, is destructive. That may even explain some lost files. I'm asking in this community because it's the end use where the problem was discovered. I am certain if I ask in Google, I will get utterly worthless & irrelevant AI garbage in response. Oops, I mean AoI...Absense of Intelligence. Thanks for reading and your thoughts. MurraySolved1.5KViews0likes2CommentsCould you apply to become a Cloud media provider for Android?
Not sure if this fits to the "Integrations" Category, but yeah, change it if you feel like it's wrong. https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage/shared/photopicker https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/providers/cloud-media-provider While uploading a photo to an app, photo picker interface opens. This interface (from what I can see, this looks like a new feature of Android) allows user to pick a photo from their Android device and lets user to do his action. Anyway, I met with this recently and there is an option to select the photo from a cloud media provider; where I expected to see Dropbox among the cloud service provider options, but Dropbox wasn't there. Seems like you guys have to apply to be shown as cloud service provider to Android, and seems like application can be done from this form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1MGECQc2N-UnYFF5DIxeRq7AjrJ9bh_3KmoWsK8dq9ZM/viewform?pli=1&pli=1&edit_requested=true So yeah, please apply, so that I can pick my photos from my Dropbox account with this interface, so that I can upload them, or send them or whatever action I wanna do.2.1KViews0likes11CommentsI'm having issues editing and opening Excel files
Hello, I have a business account to share with other Co Workers and we save a lot of Excel Sheets. Some have multiple pages to them and talk to external links. Up until recently has worked perfect for us. As of lately a few issues have developed. 1) If you are in a file that has several excel files and you open one, you have a tuff time opening another excel file from with in the same parent file. Takes a long time to open if it opens at all. Sometimes you have to close the primary file then your additional file will open. 2) Used to save and close a file and the icon would be the Excel icon, Now when it closes it will show a page within the file as the icon. 3) Used to be able to edit an excel file in Android phones. Now with the Samsung S24 you play a never ending game of logging into Dropbox its self and will not let you edit and save like before. Pushes to One Drive. I have checked the obvious things783Views0likes1CommentCannot use excel files offline when saved for offline use
I am experience an issue where dropbox tells me I must be connected to internet to open excel files in the dropbox app on my android phone, which I have "made available offline" for this exact purpose... Dropbox keeps sending me back automated replys to my issue telling me to save the file for offline use. I have. I need to be able to edit data offline, or these features are useless to me and I might as well use the free google drive. I have paid for Microsoft Office Business 365 so this should work from what I have read. I have a dropbox business account. Cannot get a single human being to talk to from Dropbox. I cant believe a company can be run like this and get away with it.1.9KViews0likes7Comments'Can not upload the file' error when attaching from Dropbox to Gmail on Android
When I try to add an attachment from dropbox to a mail in gmail, I receive a message in gmail "can not upload the file". This error occurs only on one smartphone with android 12. If I do the same , with the same dropbox and google account, on an other android phone (android 11 )or an android tablet, there is no problem. Both phones have the same app version of gmailSolved46KViews5likes257CommentsUsing DB to synch Password Vaults
I have a Android phone (ver. 9). I use a password vault that depends on its database file being synchronized between PC desktop and my cell phone. On a previous cell phone, this arrangement worked very well. Now with my new Pixel 7 pro phone, it is not working. I suspect it is because my cell phone version of DropBox is not syncing correctly. I would like the DB to automatically synch every time I open or close the cell phone. But I suspect it is not happening. I don't know how to determine if I am looking at the latest DB contents on my cell phone. I also do not know how to force a synch. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Hi everyone, I have a problem with my tab s9+ and dropbox. I generally use Excel for Web to edit .xlsx files located in my Dropbox space. If I install the Dropbox app on Android it asks me to install Excel to be able to edit those files. And so far everything is normal. The problem lies in the fact that, once the Dropbox application has been installed, it is no longer possible to use Excel for Web even by accessing the file via browser. In practice, when you ask to open the file via Excel for Web, instead of carrying out this action, the tablet opens the Dropbox application, not allowing me to edit the file unless installing Excel on the tablet. Do you have any suggestions on this? Thanks everyone for the help512Views0likes1Commentunable to create a new word 365 doc in dropbox app on android s21 cell
Hi, as of 2 days ago, I'm unable to create a new microsoft word 365 doc in dropbox app on android s21 cell. I had this same issue last december, contact microsoft 365 and they asked me to use their one drive cloud server instead, which I declined. The issue resolved itself after about 1-2 months. Now that all I can do is create a text doc, how do I get microsoft 365 to integrate again with my dropbox app? Or better yet is there an alternative to microsoft 365 that doesn't have persistent recurring glitches?1.9KViews0likes18Comments
