Let me explain how it used to work and now doesn't. I would go into Dropbox on my Android phone, Select the folder I wanted to create the Microsoft Word document in and then Select the "Plus Symbol" found in the blue circle :blue_circle: found floating on lower right hand corner (that option is still there) after selecting the Plus Sign we are presented with an option to "Create or upload file" After selecting that option, I would be presented with a drop-down list of files I could create. These would include the 3 native Dropbox options of "Paper" "Text File" & 'Upload Files" as well as a list of Microsoft file types, which included MS Word & Excel and maybe PowerPoint. I would then select MS Word, and a MS Word document would be created and MS Word App would be seamlessly be activated and away I would go, creating content and saving it safely in Dropbox. Happy days! Now unfortunately when I select "Create or upload file" only the 3 native Dropbox options appear, no longer can I select a Microsoft Document type. I'm not sure why this change has occurred, and there is a work around I've found, but it's clumsy and time consuming and certainly doesn't have the elegance of what I was used to with seamless integration and function. My question is, how can I get the elegant integrated "create" MS Word option/ solution in Dropbox back, I don't want a clumsy work around.490Views0likes7CommentsDropbox seems to be corrupting files…..
I’m afraid we’re are migrating away from Dropbox, however whilst doing so we have noticed the following issue…. (Windows 11 – Latest Dropbox Version). Hence we though this may be useful. Most of our 2TB files are stored as “Online” only using Selective Sync. We then change the file status to “Available offline” so Dropbox copies(sync’s) the files back to the local disk from Dropbox.com. After some time (several hours) the Dropbox app confirms that all files are sync’d and the Dropbox task bar icon also indicates a complete/no activity status. The PC is rebooted and Dropbox is then uninstalled When trying to view via the PC the now sync’d Zip, Jpeg, Docx some of the files are corrupted/won’t open. As a test using Dropbox.com we manually download a problem file using MS Edge and the files will open correctly. It would seem that the Windows Dropbox client indicates it has finished its jobs even through it hasn’t fully completed syncing … We've also noticed that the corrupted file vs good file byte size are the same. We could duplicate this fault. Any thoughts ?6.2KViews0likes17CommentsCan I remove the owner of a shared folder?

Dear community, here is my issue: Dropbox logs me out of the browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera) multiple time during one session. I need to log in to access my documents to request a signature. The "remember me" button is ticked. When I need to select the savefolder I appear to be logged out again, I try to log back in and end up in a never ending loop. I tried multiple browsers, VPN off and on, checked my settings, emptied my cache. When I am lucky it works after restarting the process multiple times. What can i do to solve this issue? Thank you. I want to send my landlord a copy of my ID, a bank account statement, and some paystubs. This is sensitive information, so I would rather not email it, but after exploring the various options that dropbox offers, I think this is my only option. - "Dropbox Transfer" doesn't work because my landlord doesn't have dropbox. - "Dropbox DocSend" doesn't work for a number of reasons. - I want to send a folder with 3 files. - I don't want to pay a ton of extra money for this to work. I already pay for Dropbox Plus. My Question is: What kind of Dropbox plan/subscription would I need to make this work? I have Dropbox Plus, do I need to upgrade that? Is a "Dropbox DocSend" subscription something different? Overall I am disappointed at the moment in two things. 1) This seems like a really basic, simple thing to do, and moreover, it is something that will help prevent crime and identity theft. Why doesn't Dropbox support it? (or at least why do they reserve this feature only for larger business accounts) 2) The pricing structure / feature structure is obscured and is confusing. I think the end solution will be that I just email my landlord these documents. Hopefully they stay safe.314Views0likes2CommentsFolder switched to online only without my permission
My top level Dropbox folder has switched to online-only without my permission. I took care not to enable this, as I want Dropbox as a backup, not as an extra storage. I want immediate access to my files at all times and not wait for a download. I discovered this as I was editing 800+ photos of a wedding (!!!!! imagine). The finder became slow, I could not longer open RAW files in photoshop from the finder. I could not import photos in the photos app. All was very, very slow all of a sudden. Now I can't continue my work, because I will have to wait for days to sync everything back again. These files are my most precious files (not only those of the wedding, but those that in general mean the most to me). I have a paid subscription to Dropbox that I will cancel as soon as I have my files back and copied to a safe location and a backup location. I will remove dropbox from all my devices after this.711Views0likes15CommentsOnline-only and available offline missing on Windows 10.
Hello, I've spent nearly a half day trying to figure this issue out, to no avail. I;ve carefully read all posts on the Dropbox Community Forum. I've uninstalled, reinstalled the Dropbox App. i've rebooted my PC. I even uninstalled Google Drive app, just to make sure Dropbox was the only cloud app on my computer. But, still cannot get the "online-only" to appear in the Dropbox App when I right click the mouse. And ves, there are 7 other Dropbox selections available, but no online-only selection. I've even downloaded a newer beta version, but that still made no duiference. So presently I have version 204.4.5420 installed on my Windows 10 Lenovo laptop with 16 gig ram and 256 HD. I also have the "Default Browser Context Menu" set to the ON position in thedropbox.comsettings menu. I cannot think of any other possibility as to why I cannot get the "ONLINE-ONLY" to show up in the context menu. And, of course, since this is my own Lenovo laptopm I am the only person who has Admin privileges. I'd certainly appreciate any assistance in this matter. i do consider mysrelf fairly tech savvy and am a software developer, but I can't think of anything else I failed to do. Thank you,906Views0likes10CommentsHow to keep some files hidden from my device?
Hello, I have a Dropbox account that I use for both personal and professional matters. I'm very happy with Dropbox. I have now on a new computer at work where I'd like to run a Dropbox software synced to my Dropbox account. The problem I have is that I would like to see and sync on this new computer only some files for professional use, the rest of my Dropbox files remaining invisible and offline. The idea is that if someone else uses the computer, he has no access to personal data. I would love to be able to do that without being forced to buy a new subscription fir a second account... Is it possible?373Views0likes5CommentsHide visibility of other users when sharing.
I recently shared a folder via CopyLink with several people. I insert the link into the body of an email and send to multiple recipients. One has let me know that they can see who else is accessing it. In this context this ins not a good thing. It's really unprofessional because the folder contains material for actors auditioning for a role so essentially they can see who else is up for the job which cannot happen. I've used Dropbox for years and this has never come up before. Please can someone let me know: a) it's possible to hide the visibility of all other users b) and if so, how do I do it to ensure this never happens again. I have a Dropbox Plus Account Many thanksSolved989Views0likes2Comments
