Dropbox Vault
8 TopicsHow to move my files out of Dropbox Vault?
I thought I would try Dropbox Vault, thinking that is where I could put files I don't want anyone to be able to access, so I put all of my hundreds of financial documents in my vault. I need to be able to constantly work with the documents, but I now see that is not what the vault is for. It's basically useless. All the vault does is lock them away like in a bank vault. So, I now want to take ALL of my hundreds of folders and documents out of the vault, but I can't figure out how to do that. Downloading them just moves them temporarily (and it takes 5 HOURS for them to be accessible), but then they just go back into the vault. I WANT THEM PERMANENTLY OUT OF THE STUPID VAULT AND BACK ONTO MY COMPUTER'S DROPBOX FOLDER - NOT DROPBOX ONLINE! I have searched online for comments made about this, but those solutions don't work for me. I can't just open two windows and drag the files over. Please help!1.8KViews0likes8CommentsVault termination
It seems like Dropbox is about to do it again. After removing the strong integration with Google Docs, causing many customers to all of a sudden have to work with links instead of documents, Dropbox is now planning for the termination of Vault (end of March '25). Did you like the function that allowed you to keep some files extra safe in a fully encrypted and PIN-locked container on your dropbox ? Yes ? Well tough for you! Remarkably, Dropbox now claims it will automatically move the files you have stored in your vault to a normal folder on your regular dropbox. Oh really? I guess that means Dropbox has full access to my vault then, and can just move files around as they see fit ? That is quite alarming for a functionality that is supposed to be fully encrypted. Really Dropbox, this is NOT how you obtain customer satisfaction or loyalty. I've been using your service for about 20 years now, but I'm actively checking out alternatives.Solved1.1KViews13likes28CommentsVault Sync issue on Desktop

Retain Vault!
There are so many reasons to continue Vault but a key one is that the Dropbox folder on a PC (and a Mac?) is not protected by Windows or iOs in any normal way. Vault made protection possible for key files. But of course being able to protect the entire Dropbox folder on a PC or Mac would be an even better idea!Solved120Views6likes4CommentsKeep The Vault Please!
Very Dissatisfied At Hearing About The Vault Being Discontinued. The Vault is an extremely handy extra security feature, adding another layer of security. I’m very dismayed to hear that Dropbox, has astonishingly, come to the decision to drop this feature! It makes zero sense. I hope that the company will reevaluate this shocking decision and keep the Vault in play. Many Thanks, Edmond100Views2likes2CommentsKeep Vault, and prevent it from being deprecated.
This is a single competitive advantage that Dropbox has that other competition didn't have. This has been successfully used. There have been two failures: Not allowing individuals to purchase above 4TB. This is a huge miss. I want my drives to be backed up. A 4TB space is quite easily filled up. Vault: One of the biggest competitive advantages for your company (Dropbox) Why is this going away? Why was this the decision? Please share this with the community.Solved97Views5likes2Comments
