I had files in my Dropbox account with calendar plans for upcoming years. They were titled 2025 Travel Calendar, 2026 Travel Calendar, etc. But these seem to have been lost. I did not delete them. How can I recover these important Word documents?38Views0likes5CommentsNew Computer - all Word Docs Corrupt
I have set up a new computer. Downloaded the Dropbox desktop app, same as previous computer. I am running Office365. Now all Word documents that are stored in DP are showing corrupted. I can login to DP directly and open the document but when I try to open through my DP shortcut on file explorer. Word docs will not open directly. The solution has been to open the document from DP and then re-save it on the computer in DP. So I still have access to the docs but it's very inconvenient. Is there a solution that would allow my documents to all update at once and be available again from the file explorer shortcut?10Views0likes1CommentEntire folders vanished from my account
I had folders titled "old pictures" and "old videos." I had them only online and did not synch them with my devices, so they would not take up space. I went online to find a particular picture that would have been in one of those folders, and the folders are gone. I would have never deleted it and never received any notice that they had been deleted. They are not folders I access often, so I have no idea how long they've been missing. I only have the plan that can show deleted files for the past 30 days, and they aren't there. Are there zero options to get the folders back now, and I just have to mourn the loss of decades of family pictures and videos? It concerns me about the safety of all my other less frequented folders.22Views0likes2CommentsHow can I restore my account to a version with older files?
I have the basic dropbox on two computers - say Desktop and Laptop. Due to a Desktop restore from Idrive cloud backup my dropbox on Desktop has updated with old folders/files which were previously deleted or modified and a sync operation up to the max memory allowed in basic account has occured (dropbox stopped sync as memory got full) so now I have incorrect contents on the Web dropbox. I cannot use the rewind facillity as its a basic account (tells be to go buy an upgrade if I try and rewind a folder}. To get back to my dropbox before it got accidentaly updated with old stuff, my idea is to to uninstall dropbox from Desktop and delete the local dropbox folder. My Laptop was not turned on at the time so that holds the correct Dropbox contents. If I now log into my dropbox web account via a browser and delete all files and folders in the web account and then turn on the Laptop, will the dropbox on my Laptop Sync/upload to the dropbox account and effectively recreate the correct contents. on the Dropbox Web account. I can then re install dropbox on the Desktop and the dropbox will now download from the Web and be correct on the Desktop. Will this work please? Hi, it's 2024 . IA is here. Please, scan all my photo and suggest something to sort them or help me find what I need. I have a Folder "Camera Uploads"with more than 30 000 photos from my phone. It is impossible to sort them or search them or even to navigate in the folder. Ex : I want to find the photo in a night market in china . It takes seconds within the Iphone. It is impossible on dropbox except if the photo is named "night market china" (spoiler : it isn't) . So Dropbox is good to save the pictures but barely usable to use/search for them . Please do something1KViews3likes4CommentsCan I tag people in photos and have Dropbox recognize them for search purposes?

Why can't I find my files anymore? I used to click the recent icon/whatever and they'd appear. Now I can't even find them anywhere not even in search. I have 2GB of storage and I've used 15K MG. I save files in vellum in Macincloud and sometimes I can find them in there, but it's a pain. Thanks!256Views0likes6CommentsAll the files on my Dropbox account have 247_Plankton added to the file name, and I can't open them
Just tried to access one of my Excel files stored in Dropbox and it appears every single one of my Dropbox file names have been changed. They all have 247_Plankton added to the file name and the file types have all been changed also so I cannot open any of my files. Any idea what is happening? Did I get hacked????224Views0likes1CommentI received an email about deleted files, but I can't find them in the Deleted files page
I received an email from Dropbox stating I had deleted a large number of files, which I was not aware I had done. When I logged into my account and clicked on deleted files, there was nothing there. The email said I had until 30 October to reinstate these files. I am desperate!!! I97Views0likes1CommentSearching for 'Image Properties' on the Dropbox site
I am trying to search my Dropbox, on a web browser, for data in the "Keywords" field in the file properties. Dropbox's Help center says that you can search: "Image properties (such as resolution, date, keywords, copyrights, and other EXIF and IPTC fields)." Note: the field that I'm specially looking to search is labeled "Tags" when you look at it on Windows Explorer and "Keywords" when you look at the "File Info" on Dropbox. I can see the data when I look at a file's "File Info," so I know that they are there. But when I type one of the "Keywords" that I know is in multiple files into the search bar, it returns "No Results Found." Can someone explain to me what is happening or what I'm missing? (I am testing this because I currently use OneDrive for file backup, and it is a nightmare to search. I was hoping Dropbox would be more functional.)149Views0likes1Comment
