I tried to follow the instructions for adding a watermark to our photos. I am the owner of the file. I was able to preview and then click "watermark." At that point I did not see any option for text or image. How do I create the watermark and apply it to our photos (basically want to add our name to the bottom of the photo.) Thanks!Solved3.7KViews0likes12CommentsCorrupt Files when moving files from folder to folder (iPhone images saved with ".")
Using windows 11, I manage my drobox files in my windows folders with dropbox app installed. I drag and drop all "2023" or all "2022" files to a respectively named folder, however because these images are iphone images they contain a "." in the name, and this "." has caused some files to corrupt when moving to a folder. As I was bulk moving the files, I did not look into the folder until a month or so later to go and edit, this is when I saw the problem, 2.5k files corrupted, either as a UFO symbol or as a PDF, and because this action happened more than 30 days ago I can not restore the previous version of the files 😞 I am very confused as to how this as happened, surely there would be a warning system in place for the "."? Does anyone have any way to restore these files?>651Views0likes3CommentsAdd editing features to Video Preview within dropbox
Add basic features to edit videos within the the video player we get on dropbox website. These could include 1. Change the Aspect ratio of a video so we can use the same video to fit multiple social media websites like tik-tok, Instagram reels, WhatsApp/Facebook stories, and Facebook/youtube videos. 2. Trim capabilities 3. Additional basic features like trimming and combining multiple videos into one within dropbox.1.1KViews1like2CommentsExclude Photos and folders from The PHOTO Tab
Hi Dbox, this is really annoying that ALL pictures goes to the Photo Tab. I want to select what goes there. For example I diont want to have thousands of Work pictures in the Photo tabs. I want the photo Tab to be for my personnal photos only. Keep in mind this Photo tab is also acessible on my phone. so why should i carry non personnal photos? Today it seem impossible: all the pictures are just added to that PHOTO tab, from whatever folder. Thanks a lot Louis H3.7KViews10likes9CommentsRestored a previous version of a file and it won't open on my Mac unless I edit and save it first
I have a file on my Dropbox desktop. I go to Dropbox.com and restore a previous version of that file. When I attempt to open it from the menu bar on my Mac, where it shows the status of files that are synced up, it does not open. Instead it states this message, "Couldn't open file. Try again later." I have inserted a screenshot for clarity. This problem gets resolved when I open the file from where its located on my actual desktop and edit the file and save it, then the problem disappears. The problem does not get resolved, by just opening the file, you have to make some edit and save the file, then only can I open the file from the menu bar. This problem only occurs when I restore a previous version of a file from the web. Has anyone encountered this problem? The Dropbox search feature searches both the filenames and also the file contents, and then randomly combines the results, thereby rendering the final results unusable for many purposes. This is the same serious issue that petholla mentioned in the original thread from 2019, and it still needs to be fixed after all these years: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/View-download-and-export/Search-in-filename-only/td-p/353242 https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Delete-edit-and-organize/Search-in-filename-only-REDUX/m-p/722581794Views1like1CommentShared files listing order
My ascending order files in my folder are randomly appearing in the shared folder in a numerical sequence based on the first digit, e.g., 1, 11, 12, 13, ... 2, 20, 21, 22,... 3, 30 31, etc. They are set up to appear in ascending numerical order yet, every now and then, they present in the other numerical order. I cannot find anything to permanently set the order of appearance. They always present in the desired ascending numerical order in my Dropbox account folder. Any suggestions?993Views1like5Comments
