Make file prefixing an option - file requests
When someone requests a file using your request a file tool, the person who uploads the file's name gets added to the file name eg janedoe_filea.pdf . This is really frustrating and I end up having to rename my files. I did a search to solve the problem and I see there are other people that are quite frustrated by the problem but apparently there is no fix for this? See what folders a user belongs to
As an admin, I want to be able to easily see what folders a specific user belongs to. I'd love to be a be able to go to the "Members" page, click on a user, and then see a list of all the folders they have access to. If I need to partially reduce a specific users folder access, I would currently have to click "Share" next to each folder and look through who the members were. And even then, if they belong to a folder I don't, I won't know they are on it. I'd also like to be able to change their permission and uninvite them to those folders from that same view. So, once I've opened the "Members" page, clicked on the user, and am looking at the folders they belong to, I'd want to be able to make edits from there.42KViews64likes75Comments
Hide the members of a shared folder
Hi, My company uses Dropbox (free and company versions) to share files with external people of the company. We would like to know if it's possible to hide the name and the email address of the members of the folder to the other members. Regarding the new "File Request" functionality, the person submitted a file is asked for a valid email. How do I, the owner of the file request, view that email address? I can only see the person submitting's name, but not their email.16KViews41likes30Comments
Default Share Option should be "View" not "Edit"
Hello, I am a Dropbox business admin that shares a lot of links with people outside of my organization. I'm not sure when it happened but as some point the default for sharing switched from "View" to "Edit". When you click the "Copy Link" button, it creates an edit link, not a view link. When you click the three dots, then go "Share with Dropbox", and the pop up window appears, the default is "can edit". Furthermore, in the dropbox app (Finder on Mac), the "Copy Dropbox Link" option creates an edit link. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does not want random people being able to upload to my dropbox. To be sure, I do not want to get rid of "Edit", but making it the default seems an odd choice. This means that even the most diligent of user (myself) accidentally sends Edit links. Allow Users to Leave a Shared Dropbox Paper Document
Currently when a Dropbox Paper document is shared with you it's impossibe to remove yourself from it. Not only this, but all others that the document has been shared with can see your email address. I know other people have suggested this but I'm just adding my two cents worth - Being able to download/print the entire file structure for your records or to share with others - would save having to manually record it in a spreadsheet.
