I have a Basic account, but want to upgrade to something that will allow my small research team, based at an NGO, to save their data and articles. Our project cannot afford the multi-user options. A colleague at a research institution told me that he has the DB Plus option with 2TB space, and it allows him to share a folder with his team, without the contents in the folder counting towards their basic accounts. I cannot find any information on this on DB website. I will appreciate some help...Solved34Views0likes1CommentChanging or transferring ownership of a Family plan
We have a family plan. The family manager is no longer continuing in that role, so what we need to do is transfer ownership to allow one of the other members within the family plan to take on the role of manager and become responsible for future payments when they are due. We have been told thatif we want to change the person who is the manager for our Family, we will need to cancel the plan, then have the person who will be the new Family manager purchase a new Family plan and re-invite ALL the family members. 1) What happens when the current plan is cancelled? Will everyone lose their files? Will the shared family folder also disappear with all the important files in it? 2) What happens to those who are not part of the family, but who have been given access to certain folders for viewing? Will we have to re-invite ALL those people too or is their access retained?214Views0likes1CommentNo option to disable downloads for shared links on Dropbox Plus
Straight to the point - there is no way to prevent downloads with the ‘PLUS’ plan. Previously, you could set to ‘view’ and prevent downloading. Now… the options are awful. View should mean view. The Dropbox answer? Upgrade to ESSENTIALS - preventing downloading should be available to all users. And other options are available. So that’s why I am leaving Dropbox.314Views1like1CommentDo all members need paid plans to download our files?
I'm on the board of an international PR organization. Does it matter what subscription the organization has (Dropbox Plus, Business, etc.) for all members (20) to access and download files? Since we have lots of data, do the individuals d/l files need bigger storage plans to access the group's data files? I used to be able to preview a folder and files without upgrading my plan. Now when I attempt to do this a pop-up tells me that I have to upgrade my plan and there is no way to click out of the option. This happens on the mobile app as well as on the desktop version and website. I am only using half of my accounts capacity but can’t even preview additional files shared with me that I need. Can anyone help?377Views0likes1CommentDivorce. How to spilt the account
Hi, I am at the beginning of a divorce and one of the many terrible tasks is digital separation. We have shared a family account for over a decade. How do we separate our account so that we each get access to the shared family photos. Do we have to download everything somewhere. Is there a way of making a new account that is a duplicate?526Views0likes1Comment
