Shared Folders
100 TopicsActivity shows that a folder member deleted some documents but they didn't
Hi Everyone, Hoping for some guidance as I cannot get the live chat or chatbot feature to function. Having an issue with shared documents showing the other party deleted them in activity, but the other party is adamant they did not. When they go into their trash to make sure and try to restore, none of these are showing as files that were deleted. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there anything I can do to get the files back?158Views0likes1CommentOne of my shared folders disappeared after sharing it with another user.
I have just tried to share a folder with dropbox to another account and the folder has simply disappeared. It doesn't show in the online directory. It doesn't come up when I look for deleted files either, so I assume it is still there somewhere. This is an important folder and I'd like to get it back. Unfortunately I don't have a local copy so that isn't an option. Any ideas?Solved3.4KViews0likes10CommentsShared folder missing/deleted, how can I get it back?
I have a shared folder with aprox. 8 persons. I have a dropbox plus account. The shared folder has been deleted from my dropbox and we don't know how that happened. The folder does not show in the 'deleted files' section in the online dropbox website. How can i retrieve/restore the shared folder? EDIT: in the events section is see that 'I removed my access to the shared folder'. I dont recall this and the question is, how can i restore access? All team members who had access to the same folder have the exact notification in the events section, at the same time.482Views0likes7CommentsWe should be able to completely remove an external collaborator from an account.
Should be able to completely remove an external collaborator from an account. I deleted the original files I had shared with external collaborators before renewing my Dropbox account and upgrading it to a Business account. I am not able to delete external collaborators. I have no wish to see their names or share information with now or in the future. I’ll think I’m in a deadlock situation. I have used 104% of my Dropbox storage space. I have several shared folders which I no longer need. However I removed myself as owner in the past (not knowing the shared folder still exists in my Drobox account). I like to delete these shared folders. This is however not possible because I’m no longer a member/owner of the shared folder. But because I don’t have any storage capacity left, I’m not able to re-connect to these shared folders (as an owner) to be able to delete these shared folders. Question: how can I remove (shared) folders from my account which consume all my storage spaceSolved1.9KViews0likes9CommentsCannot move shared folder if I am not the owner
I am trying to reorganize my dropbox because I literally have thousands of folders, and I need them to be more logically nested. This is no problem with shared folders that I own, but I can't move any shared folders where I am not the owner. This is a nightmare, because it means that every folder anyone has ever shared with me remains in my top level dropbox folder and cannot be filed into the relevant subfolder within dropbox. Because I can't find any information about this issue online, I am assuming that my dropbox is not functioning correctly. Hoping someone can help me to fix this issue? Here is the error message I get when I try to move a shared folder where I am not the owner from my top level dropbox folder to a different subfolder within dropbox (that is not shared with anyone else, in case that is relevant): Couldn't move folder To move this folder, try contacting the owner of FOLDER_NAME If I click on the "more information" link, it just takes me to a generic message about team folders. (Note: These are not dropbox business team folders--they are simply shared folders. I have a regular Dropbox pro account, on Windows 11, desktop version.)2.7KViews2likes16Comments
