7 TopicsFolder commands missing from "background" right click when I click on empty space next to folder
Hi there, previously, one was able to right click in empty space on a folder and have the same commands show up that show when right clicking on a folder: These are the options that show when right clicking ON the folder. And as of a recent update, these are not available when right clicking in blank space: I dug around in the registry to see if it was possible to link the command, but it shows in Directory/shellex as normal, so I imagine this is something that has changed on Dropbox side. Is it possible to bring this back at all? Thanks, LukeSolved4.4KViews0likes25CommentsLinks won’t open in the Dropbox app
When I receive a Dropbox link through another app, e.g. Messenger, the “Get the App” or “Open in App” button appears, but if I tap it the App Store opens instead. There’s currently no way for me to open the link in the app directly. I tried re-installing but that didn’t help. I’m using an iPhone SE2.2.3KViews0likes5CommentsiPhone app shows "Shared Link" alert every time I open the app
For a few months now, every time I open the Dropbox app on my iPhone, I get an alert/popup: Shared Link <name of person> shared <folder name> with you [Dismiss] [View] If I click "Dismiss", it goes away until I open the app the next time. If I click "View", I get a loading animation, then another alert "Can't Display Link. This link does not exist.". The folder is something that was shared with me in 2014, so it's likely accurate that the link no longer exists. The question is: why am I getting this popup and how I can I disable it? Thanks for any hints.1.5KViews0likes9CommentsiPhone app shows "Shared Link" alert for a file that has been deleted long ago
Hello Support, Every time I open your iPhone app, a pop-up appears informing that I have a shared link to a file that was deleted long time ago. The issue seems to be exactly the same as detailed here: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/iPhone-app-shows-quot-Shared-Link-quot-alert-every-time-I-open/td-p/724914 Just like that user, I have removed the app and rebooted the iPhone but to no avail. Could you please post instructions here on how to rectify the issue? In my case, the app is running on iPhone 8 w/ iOS 16.7.8 Thank you.765Views0likes6CommentsDropbox for MacOS update and existing links
"Due to the change of the Dropbox folder location, files that were previously linked in some third-party applications will need to be linked again." Does this mean thatall of my previous Dropbox links will become invalid following this update? Because that's ... bad. Like, will bring down my whole web-store bad. Like, hours and hours of work to fix bad.648Views0likes1CommentShared link not able to jump to app but browser instead
Hi all, there are many videos on discord which shared with dropbox, those links direct to the app before. But recently once I click the link on discord it jumps to the browser instead of app. When I choose 'view in app' on website, it says: If you've downloaded Dropbox for Android and you continue to see this window, change the default settings in Settings. You can clear default settings by following these steps: Settings > App settings > Your browser > Clear defaults. However I'm not able to find these settings in dropbox. I've tried re-download the app but the problem still exists.437Views0likes1CommentNew context menu proposal
Our business software is web based, and using its file selection popup allows us to attribute documents to transactions by selecting them from either a UNC path or URL, where the files path get stored in the database, and users can view that document later when they retrieve that transaction. The "Dropbox -> Share" and "Dropbox -> Copy Dropbox Link" context menu options work, but in my opinion are overkill for the scenario where new links are unnecessary, and an existing option almost gives us an easier solution. What I'm proposing is a new "Dropbox -> Copy Preview Path" context menu option that simply copies the existing https://www.dropbox/preview/... path, without the actual navigation and preview part. Example: Selecting "Copy Preview Path" would copy the following to the clipboard: https://www.dropbox.com/preview/Sales/LOGOS/My%20File.pdf?role=work Alternatively, since this is not an actual preview, what gets copied to the clipboard could be the normal web navigation path, which we have tested and it works equally well. When I shared a URL like this one with team members, those with permission could view it and those that didn't couldn't: https://www.dropbox.com/work/Sales/LOGOS/My%20File.pdf Either way, no additional links required and access permissions are preserved as expected, and in our case, as desired. Thank you!341Views0likes1Comment
