Shared Links

It's just incredibly hard for common folks to download their files. You confuse things by making them accept all..... offering them app or web browser download...... Then you ask are they sure they want to leave page. I give out 30-40 links a month and have to explain how to download to almost every single client. I have several photographer friends and they all say same thing."""""""""375Views0likes3CommentsDownloading from a shared link from Patreon gives me an error screen
Hello, I am currently using the free version of Dropbox, and I would like to confirm if shared links to uploaded folders still do not have an expiration date by default. I understand that with the Dropbox Professional or Business plans, it is possible to set an expiration date for shared links. However, I would like to know if, on the free plan, my shared links will remain active indefinitely unless I manually delete or remove them. Hi, We are using the view permission link of our image links to our Amazon listing template but keeps getting an error like this: We could not access the media URL. A 403 HTTP status code was received. Ensure that the server or firewall configuration is not blocking Amazon servers from accessing the media. How can we fix this issue? Hello, I’ve been facing a persistent and frustrating issue when downloading single files via Dropbox links. Here’s the problem: Whenever I download a single file, it always ends up corrupted. I can’t open the file with QuickTime or VLC, and I can’t even import it into Premiere Pro for editing. The file downloads completely without any errors, but once downloaded, it’s unusable. As a workaround, I’ve found that downloading the entire folder as a .ZIP file prevents corruption. However, this is not practical for me—I often only need to download a single file from the folder, and I want it to work without issues. Sent images below of the problems. Some additional details: I use Dropbox exclusively through a web browser (not the app). I don’t have any paid subscription. I primarily use Dropbox because my clients share videos with me through this platform. Aside from the corruption issue, I’ve also noticed that Dropbox download speeds are incredibly slow for me, which makes the situation even more frustrating. And NO, i dont want to use the Dropbox APP. But if its the only way yo get it to fix, i can try it. I really need to understand why these single-file downloads are always corrupted and find a solution to this problem. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! I'm trying to access some files using public sharing links i've created long time ago. All these links gives the same error message with the sad dog picture "That didn't work for some reason". I've cleared my cache, I've tried other computers, other web browsers : SAME ERROR. There is an existing thread in the forum for this, but "replies have been turned off for this discussion". The solutions proposed by dropbox staff are all similar and useless. It seems that dropbox made a change to their code that made all this old links not valid. if this is true : WHAT A SHAME FOR A FILE SHARING AND BACKUP SERVICE. if this is wrong, could you please give me a working solution without having to regenerate all the links ? hoping i'm wrong, thank you in advance, and happy new year19Views0likes1CommentRemove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!4.7KViews7likes32CommentsDownloads disabled feature not working
I have my downloads disabled for a shared link. Whenever I test the link being shared to another email, the download option is still there and able to be used. I pay to use this feature on dropbox, and for it to not be working is ridiculous. Anyone have any idea why or how to fix this?Solved3KViews0likes11Comments
