I shared a link to my dropbox for a file with photos. The person I shared it to opened the file in Microsoft Photo Editor, All the pictures were rotated 90 degrees from their orientation in dropbox. Is there something I can do to make sure this does not happen?78Views0likes3CommentsDropbox options missing in right-click menu on Windows
Hi guys, today, probably after downloading and installing latest stable release a Dropbox, the context menu disappeared from Windows Explorer. Dropbox version:183.4.7058 Windows 10 version: 22H2 OS build 19045.3448 Unfortunately I am not sure, what version was installed prior to update. Any ideas to solve this? Was reading older posts of same issue and not sure how to proceed? Downgrade to older stable and disable updates for a while? Recently bought a new Dell xps with Windows 11. I can open all Dropbox documents when going through the website but get and error message 0x80070780 when I try to open Dropbox documents that are on my hard drive. That error message is "the file cannot be accessed by the system". The Windows community says that it could be due to corrupted windows files but I ran all of the DISM diagnostics and found no corruption. It said that it could also be due to not having administrator powers but I confirmed that I am the administrator and logged into that function. I can access the files through the Dropbox app on my phone and tablet. What can I do to be able to access the Dropbox files located on my hard drive?2.1KViews0likes22CommentsOpening a folder takes too long on Windows 11 when Dropbox is running

I have a paid account from Dropbox Plus. When I attempt to access some files in Dropbox, I get the File Cannot be Accessed by the System error. This happens with all of my jpg and other photo files. I have been able to access all of these files in the past. It's only since I moved to Windows 11 that this has started.Any help is appreciatedSolved6.7KViews0likes8Comments"We couldn't open (insert file name here). Wait a bit, then try again"
The subject line captures the error that I am receiving anytime I attempt to open a file stored by DropBox on my PC through the File Explorer. I have tried various media players, VLC, Windows Media Player Legacy, Windows 11 Media Player, 5k Video Player (which plays virtually any extension) - And these are all Mp4 videos, which are compatible with any and every of those players listed. The strange thing is that this error is intermittent, sometimes the videos load great, other times they provide this error. I have tried it with/without my VPN turned on thinking that perhaps it was an access issue with the VPN IP being active, I use a static IP address so it couldn't be from dynamic IP changing - I'm at a loss.223Views0likes1CommentVery slow opening files and folder
Hi everyone, I'm using Dropbox (firmware n. 166.3.2831) on my gaming laptop running Windows 11. Everything run smoothly until some days ago, when Dropbox suddenly became very slow when clicking to open folder or file: it takes MANY seconds (10-15 seconds at least). This causes a huge slowdown in the user experience, I can't even work in these circumstances. Of course this is a problem related to the Dropbox folder only, local folders run as smooth as they should. How can I fix that? Thanks. EDIT: apparently there's a conflict between Dropbox and iCloud for Windows; deleting the latter, Dropbox app works.Solved9.1KViews4likes18CommentsExtra large icons appear small on the Dropbox app of my Windows 11 computer.
Hello, I can't find any recent post about this so maybe there is a solution. When i use the dropbox app for windows 11 my thumbnail view is too small. I set the view on extra large icons, but the icons are not showing the full icon size. Is there something i can do to fix this? kind regards, Marco531Views0likes8CommentsVault will not re-open after timeout
When i open the vault, contents show just fine. After 10 minutes, Dropbix prompts a message that the vault needs the PIN re-entered to keep syncing. But when the PIN is entered, DROPBOX will never reconnect the vault. We get a message 'Something went wrong, please try again later'. (Lame useless messsage - how about an error code?) Then if we keep workiing with the files, we get 'Corrupted' copies because it couldnt save. Really a pain! After this failure, if I click something in the vault folder, it simply disappears. I can't be the only one experiencing this! Windows 10/Pro This has been happening for well over a year. Why don't you guys fix it? Actually, i would prefer the dialog ASK me how long i would like the vault to stay open for...491Views0likes6Comments
