I just created a new Business account and set up all the initial members. One of the people accidently selected the Merge option when responding to the invite and of course that did not go well. So I deleted him from our site but unfortunately it deleted his entire account (VERY BAD IDEA FOR DROPBOX TO DO THIS BECAUSE SIMPLY BEING A MEMBER OF MY BUSINESS SITE SHOULD NOT GIVE ME THE POWER TO TOTALLY DELETE HIS PERSONAL ACCOUT). So we got that sorted out fortunately and re-invited him using a different email address to make sure this never happens again. And now I just noticed that I have 32 External Collaborators on the site that I assume came from him even though he was deleted. How do I remove them? There is no way that DropBox should EVER have added them as collaborators to my site. Hello, I write here about my problem with the hope somebody can help me. I always used Dropbox Basic with 2GB storage. With the same Dropbox profile I upgraded to Dropbox Business for me and my team in the office 4 years ago (6 persons in total). This month I stopped Dropbox Business since we started to use a physical storage in the office – before downgrading I deleted all the files from my Dropbox Business. Now I thought I could keep using my Dropbox Basic with 2GB storage but all the files I deleted are still in the bin and I can’t permanently deleted them. Somehow it’s written that I am still using 53GB of space but I can’t get rid of these files because I have no authorization anymore. I guess these files will remain in the bin for few months and probably they block my Dropbox Basic storage. Should I open a new Dropbox Basic account with another mail? Or is there a possibility to solve my issue? With Dropbox Basic I can’t even get in contact with the support and somehow I’m stucked... Hi all, Accidentally, I clicked on spam email link received from fake Dropbox email address. Now, I lost access to all my Dropbox files, when I signed in back, it asked to reset the password, and then my business account downgraded to normal account and no files in it. Now, I cant reach customer care as its automatically downgraded basic account. Raised the issue with customer care through support portal, no one reached yet. One executive on the sales chat said, they will contact me on my phone, since 4 days they didn't reach me either. Complained to Dropbox Abuse team last week, no response from them. We signed up for the Dropbox Business Plus plan for 4 team members. We wanted to try out the free trial before signing up. Dirty practice from Dropbox to prompt a recipient of a shared file to be asked to join your team. This prompt confuses the recipient of the file who requests to join the team and therefore Dropbox gains another paid user. This user (from another company) if added to the team by an overworked I.T. dept who isn't paying attention, then gains access to the company files. Please re-work your prompt system and remove the option to request access to join the team. We can add members to the team from the admin console and this is the most secure way to do this. This fault is obviously a great way for Dropbox to gain 'accidental' paid users at the expense of security. I receive a few of these emails each month and each time it's just Dropbox testing myintelligence again to see if I will accidentally add a totally random person to access our company files by mistake. This is absolutely not secure file storage and is designed to be misleading. It is frustrating that Dropbox is actively phishing. Disabling the ability of a user to request to join a team (from outside your company) would resolve this. It is hard to imagine a scenario where you would want to add (and pay for) an external user to your team. If you did need this feature, it would be a deliberate action and the cost involved would need to be approved (an ongoing subscription - the worst kind of cost). Email requests from external users would of course be ignored and make no impact on the purchase of the license. The current short term fix i can suggest is just setting Dropbox emails to block/spam/autodelete. I used to have a personal account using my work email (Google login) and deleted it as I need to register a business account with the same email address. However, when I try to sign up via the invitation from our company admin, Dropbox gives me an error message saying "There was a problem completing your request," and I cannot go any further. Hi! I am trying to get my music organization/band to use dropbox more efficiently & effectively. I have an enterprise plan but it doesn't seem like there is anywhere in the user interface for me to create or manage teams. I wanted to add phone support so I could call dropbox but i don't even see that option in my Settings console. How can i talk to someone who can help me figure this out?
