I use the Dropbox app on my iphone. I used to be able to open excel files in excel by using “open with - excel”. But now it sends me to a screen saying Microsoft Integration wants permission. I hit the Allow button (the only other option available is “learn more”) and it just takes me back to the list of files in Dropbox. I can never get past that. I used to be able to open them from the Excel app as well, but not now. What has changed and what can I do?Solved7.7KViews1like30CommentsThird party app not correctly linking to file structure
We are using Bluebeam Revu for iPad which connects with Dropbox. It used to work just fine, but a few years ago Dropbox stopped showing the full file structure within the Bluebeam Revu for iPad app. I've been working with Bluebeam tech support off and on about this issue for this whole time, but they still can't figure out what the cause is. This does not happen with their other users. When in the Bluebeam Revu for iPad app, when we go to the cloud connections, where it connects with Dropbox, the Dropbox listing there only shows three folders and one loose PDF file. We have MANY, MANY more than that which aren't showing. For some reason, Dropbox will not sync the full file structure. It had worked fine from before October 2020, but after that it stopped syncing and showing the full file structure with Bluebeam Revu for iPad.Solved4KViews0likes19CommentsLinks from Dropbox no longer show a preview on Apple Messages
In the last 24 hours, Dropbox has stopped showing link previews when sending over Messages in iOS. Now, only the Dropbox icon and name shows. Has anyone found a fix for this? Before and After Screenshots attached.Solved3KViews0likes11CommentsEditing an Excel file on my iPhone. Is this possible?
Hi, I hope I am asking this question in the right category. If not I am sorry. But my problem is that I have generated an Excel file on my desktop and copied and pasted into my Dropbox. When I open this file in Dropbox on my iPhone I can view, cut and copy the file but I cannot edit it. I have the Excel app installed on my phone, but even using the app the function to edit is not there. Does anybody out there know a solution to this as I am led to believe I should be able to edit this kind of file2.4KViews0likes20CommentsOutlook for iOS - folders missing
My most important folder in my Dropbox doesn't show up in Outlook. This is VERY important for me to be able to do my job while traveling. If I open the native dropbox app on my phone, it is there fine. It is just a normal folder like every other one. I see in 2019 where someone had the same issue but never resolved. Most seemed to have switched to OneDrive. I hate to do that, as I have been a client for 15 years. Let me know if this is something that can be resolved ASAP.2KViews0likes1CommentDropbox appears in iOS Files app but not in other apps using Files
Native Dropbox For Business app works fine and is visible in iOS Files app. But other apps cannot see Dropbox when I browse file locations. I have used the three dots to edit the available locations and Dropbox still does not show up. All apps are up to date and running iOS 16.7.2 The below screenshot is from the Files app. It shows Dropbox as an available storage location in Files. This below screenshot is from an app trying to access the storage locations listed in the Files app. It does not show Dropbox. This occurs will all apps trying to use the Files storage locations, including the native Photos app. How do I get Dropbox to be accessible to other apps via the Files app?1.3KViews0likes8Comments"Nothing in folder" error when trying to attach Dropbox files to Outlook on iPhone
I have a very similar issue on an iPhone 15 trying to attach documents from dropbox to Outlook mobile email. Everything worked fine up until about four months ago when suddenly attaching to dropbox started giving the error “Nothing in folder, Looks empty over here“. Deleting the Outlook mobile app and reinstalling it and repeating the same for Dropbox and reconnecting the two again makes no difference, resetting Dropbox on Outlook mobile app also makes no difference. I checked the Files app on the device and dropbox shows up and is active and all the folders can be seen there, but outlook Mobile appears to be incapable of reading any of them. I use Outlook mobile with dropbox files constantly, or did it up until this issue happened. This only appears to happen on iPhone, as the same application combination appears to work fine on iPad. I would greatly appreciate your assistance.🙏805Views0likes3CommentsConfusing access of Dropbox files when compared to different cloud providers
I often get very confused accessing my Dropbox files via various Apple, Google and Microsoft apps on my Mac and iPad. This is particularly problematic for me when trying to locate and open files on Mac and/or iPad for Microsoft apps (such as Excel & Word), for Google apps (such as Numbers & Sheets), and for comparable Apple apps. For example, some .xlsx and .docx files in my Dropbox will open from my Mac, but I'm not allowed to open them from my iPad. And sometimes vice versa. Some Dropbox files don't even appear on both my Mac and iPad, for reasons I don't understand. I wonder if this may be the result of confusion around rules to ensure proper software account integration. Or perhaps that syncing in the integration world get too complex to for casual users like me to understand or manage. Is there a single document available that explains all the steps necessary to make sure Dropbox will present a standard, consistent list of the entire file content of my Dropbox to the same apps on my Mac and iPad.743Views0likes2Comments
