Dropbox icon not displaying current files/folders when clicking on the Dropbox icon in the menu bar

Since the last few days, the Dropbox icon in the menu bar (MacOS) has stopped displaying files and folders. As soon as I type "files or folders" in the search bar, it displays all contents. Any changes I make (add / delete) are reflected when I use the search bar. I've tried various solutions suggested by Dropbox and other posts on the net, including uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi there Jagdish M.1 - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you please clarify your device's exact OS version and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar?

If the issue persists after rebooting your computer and quitting and relaunching the app, can you send us a screenshot too?

    Thanks so much!

      Hello Walter,

I’m using Ventura v 13.7.2. When I log on into my Mac, the Dropbox icon used to connect almost immediately. Now, it doesn’t connect automatically and when I hover the mouse over it, a message states “connecting” Nothing happens until I quit Dropbox and re-launch it from the Application folder. It then connects but the issue mentioned in my original message still persists. The Dropbox version is 214.4.5217. I attach a screenshot, as requested.

Hey Jagdish M.1! Sorry for jumping in.

I’m guessing the screenshot you sent us was taken after relaunching the Dropbox app, correct?

Did you have any recent OS/Dropbox updates, right before the issue occurred?

Other than that, are there any antivirus/firewall programs currently running on your device?
