Uploading 50+gb files

I apoligize if this has been posted before but I only had limited time to look and didn't quite find what I wanted so here goes.

I wanted to upload a 60gb file (2k raw footage is a beast) for a colleague. However, the website caps uploads at 50gb which is understandable. But when I finally downloaded the app, which was difficult in and of itself for some reason, it just opens the placeholder files in file explorer and when I try, as instructed, to drag that mammoth file into the dropbox folder for an uncapped upload, I don't have enough storage space on my computer and deleting that much isn't an option. Am I trying to do this correctly? Is there a way to do this without taking up 60gb on my computer's drive?

Thanks to you all in advance!

I'm afraid there is no other way to do it other than making enough space to put the file in the Dropbox directory. PLUS you will also need additional space for the cache as it syncs - so you are looking at needing 100gb or so of free space on your machine to upload unfortunately.

No clue for files > 50 Gb. This is a Dropbox limitation, whatever your plan.
      Just crazy……
