You should be able to see which files are attempting to sync in the desktop app by following these steps.

I'm sorry about this belated reply, I was having trouble sending the screenshot.
Here is the screenshot and here is my dropbox version 196.4.6900
Please ignore the first photo where it says te files are up to date. the second photo says 2 files syncing. but most of the time all I see down below it is "syncing"

Does the app just show you that it's "Syncing..." without a number of files left to sync next to that?
And if so, does it remain stuck like that for a long time? Or just normal syncing time, depending on the number/size of the files you are syncing?

And it does take a long time, yes
