Error: "This link isn't quite right. Usually this happens when the link wasn't copied exact right"
I have been trying to share a FOLDER (not a link) with several of our music club members. About 1-2 weeks ago, members told me they could not access the folder because of the following error message...

Hi Hannah,
I checked with my customers and the folder is NOT added to their Dropbox account. It happens when they click on the shared link invite in the email I send them.
Another interesting thing is it's only happening with this one folder...I've tried other folders with them and they don't get the error with them.
Thank you for helping,
Karen

Hi again,
Just heard back from another customer who said when he clicks on the folder it says, "can't display the link."

Hi keturner12, is the error only for these two users?
Have you tested the link yourself in an incognito window while not logged into Dropbox to see if it works? Are you certain that the link hasn't changed when viewing the link settings?
- keturner122 years agoExplorer | Level 3Hi Jay. Yes I’ve tested it myself and there are about 4-6 users who get this error message.
They are new to club and are the only ones I’ve sent recent invites to.
And it’s only one folder that’s giving an error message. I’ve tested it with other folders and they are just fine.

Is there anything special about this folder? Does it have any incompatible characters in it? Is it part of a shared folder?
- keturner122 years agoExplorer | Level 3Nothing special. It does have sub folders. There are over 100 members I have previously shared it with. This jus started happening in the last 2-3 weeks.
What would be an example of incompatible characters?- Hannah2 years agoDropbox Staff
Thanks for the additional info, Karen.
Just to confirm, since you have invited these people to the folder, using their email addresses and you didn't send them just a "can edit" link, do they see the folder in their "shared" tab after all?
If they've been invited, it should appear as "you haven't joined this folder", with an option to "join folder" on the right; are they seeing this?

No worries, Karen! Let us know, when you can. 🙂
- keturner122 years agoExplorer | Level 3Hi Hanah and Jay. I decided to think of an alternate solution as my members need these files. This problem has existed for over a week. Though I appreciate your assistance, I am no closer to resolving this. I created an another folder and copied the original folder files to it. My new members who can’t get into the original folder will now be invited to this second duplicate folder. Over 100 members will still get updates in the original folder. It will be just a little more work for me to maintain 2 identical content folders, but at least it will work. Thank you for your assistance. Karen

I am experiencing exactly the same problem described above - is there any solution?
