How can I move a large shared folder from MY Dropbox to my client's Dropbox account?

I'm out of room for storage and thought I'd moved [the only folder IN my DropBox] over to my client.

How can I either move it to them — or verify WHO owns the folder we share that I'm seeing in my Dropbox?

Thanks so much!

The easiest way to move a folder to someone is to first share it with them, confirm with them that they've joined the folder and can see it in their Dropbox, then make them the owner and then remove the share from your account.

To check the current owner of a shared folder, follow these steps.

Hey mddc, thanks for using Dropbox and posting on our Community!

If you'd like to find the owner of a shared folder, you can have a look here.

As for transferring its ownership, you'd need to follow these steps

If you'd like to remove it from your account to avoid having it take up quota, you can follow these steps

In case you need access to the folder, you can ask the new owner to share a link with view only rights with you instead.

    I hope this helps!

Walter, THANK YOU. It appears my CLIENT actually is owner. I "can edit." So I must have already done that transfer. Then I wonder, why would MY Dropbox be maxed out if I don't have any folders of my own? This is on his DropBox? Can you help with that? MANY thanks!
