I can't generate links because of a Phishing issue.

Dear Dropbox Support Team,

I’ve received a notification stating: “We have suspended your activity. Your files may contain phishing elements.”

I’m unsure why I received this message, and it’s severely impacting my Dropbox experience. I primarily use your service to synchronize files between family computers and to share files with family and friends.

I don’t require a paid subscription because the features offered in your Basic plan are sufficient for my needs. Isn’t your Basic plan intended to provide free services up to a certain extent?

Could you clarify why I’m being penalized? What specifically triggered this issue? I can assure you that my files don’t contain phishing elements, and I make a conscious effort to keep my Dropbox space safe and clean.

Please provide further details so I can resolve this issue promptly.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Tonno

Hi Tonno, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

It sounds like your shared links have been paused due to the information in this article

Have you tried deleting any existing shared links to see if this helps?

Keep me updated with any progress!

I can't generate links because suspension sharing activity

      Dear Dropbox Community Support Team,

I’ve received a notification stating: “We have suspended your sharing activity. More details…”. (from Italian-English translation)

A few days ago I tried to share a PDF printout of some suspicious e-mails with a security consultant, but Dropbox started to block me and now I can no longer share. My account is a Basic one, sufficient for my needs.

How could I recover the functionality of my account? I removed from my Dropbox space the PDF files that contained the phishing elements.

      Thank you for your support.

      Best regards,

      Enrico

    Hi Jay,

Thank you so much for your quick response!

I’ve reviewed all my links and have deleted them, so no files are being shared at the moment. (I still have shared folders, however.)

Despite this, I’m still unable to share any files. Could you kindly assist me further with resolving this issue?

Thank you again for your kind support!

    Best regards,

    Tonno
