There's a video in my Dropbox (not in a folder). I don't recognize it and I want to delete it. But that's not an option. Wondering what's going on.
It's also not syncing to my computer.
Thanks.
These are the only options.
The only options avail.

Issue Summary:
- The "DELETE" button is currently disabled (greyed out) in Dropbox.
- Previously functional, the "Delete" button became inactive after initiating the upload of numerous large image files.
- Approximately 40 photographers utilized File Request Links to upload thousands of image files, coinciding with the greying out of the "Delete" button.
- Upload speeds to Dropbox are notably slow.
- The issue has been reported through Dropbox chat, but a resolution has not been provided.
- A possible explanation is that simultaneous uploads of large files via File Requests may temporarily disable certain actions, such as deleting files, to prevent conflicts or unintended deletions during the upload process.
Urgency and Impact:
- Urgent resolution is needed, as the inability to delete unwanted images hampers the culling process and subsequent timely delivery of files to clients, impacting contractual deadlines.

How do I delete a file that I just created? Neither the file nor the parent folder are shared. I have tried two different browsers.

Hey ShannonP, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Is this file fully uploaded?
Can you try from a private browsing/incognito window as well and let me know how it goes?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I am also having the same issue and I am an Admin. I can delete things through the Desktop app but not on the web. others in my office are having the same problem.
Two of us tried incognito mode on chrome and that did not help. Thanks!

Sorry to hear about this, Melissa Z.3.
Does this happen with all files in the account or specific ones?
If this has to do with team folders, can you try to delete them from the Content tab in your admin console and let me know if it works?
- Melissa Z.312 months agoExplorer | Level 3
Hi Hannah,
It is all files. I cannot view the specific file from the Admin Console. That is only showing me main folders and I cannot get to the individual file level from there (unless I'm missing something?).
Thanks!
Melissa

Hi MyDerek, thanks for messaging the Community!
Could you attach a screenshot showing where you're seeing this issue on the Dropbox site?
are you not able to delete files from Explorer/Finder, if you have the Dropbox desktop application installed?
This will help me to assist further!

The Printscreens below illustrate the greyed "Delete" buttons circled in red.

I trust that the printscreens provide the necessary detail to resolve the issue. Files can be deleted from Explorer using my computer's desktop application. However, My Team is unable to delete files using their computers. The scale of the exercise requires my full team to be able to cull (delete).

Can we just confirm this is definitely a dropbox issue right now before I get confused on this because I can't delete random files either

I also can't make anything I share editable, everything is stuck on view mode too...

Hi there, has anyone had this similar problem before?
We have a company Dropbox account. When I click on "All files" I can see two folders - my folder and the folder that the rest of the company can access.
1. As of 2 days ago, I could delete files and folders in my own folder. Today, I cannot delete anything... I can only create folders, rename files, share, edit, etc.
2. I have not changed any settings or been in my folder since two days ago
3. It says I am the owner of the folder and only I can edit
4. Strangely enough, I can go into my shared company folder and I can delete files and folders there
Thanks for your help in advance!
