sharing files - they stop playing after one hour

I regularly share my  video ZOOM files with my clients , most of which are 1  to 1 hour and 30 minutes in length.   Several of them  have complained that the recordings stop after the one hour mark, so they are unable to access the rest of the recording.   I am on the personal plus plan.   What is the issue?  Do I need to upgrade to a different plan or is it an issue on their end?

Thank you!

Are they viewing them on the Dropbox website, or downloading them and then viewing them?

If they're viewing them on the website, know that the website only shows a transcoded preview of the original video, and that preview is limited to the first 60 minutes for Plus and Professional accounts (Basic accounts are limtied to the first 15 minutes). To view a video longer than 60 minutes, your clients will need to download the video and watch it on their computer in an appropriate media player.

This is not good for our company SKY Global Productions

We have 3 accounts as we are doing lectures for seniors and mostly are 1 1/4 hours.

Many do not participate on-line and ask for the recording.

The lecturers do not permit us to let participants download the lectures.

We are willing to pay for the option of recording more than 1 hour.

Hey there Daniel wlodavsky; thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!

I'm not sure if this would do the trick for you, but have you considered using shared links to those files and then disabling downloads, if you're on a plan that offers that feature, be it our Professional plan or one of our Business ones for teams?

Apart from that you'll also be able to set a password to the shared links and set an expiry date as well if needed.

        I hope this helps, Daniel.

    Hi

I need to be able to share the videos of my classes (3+ hours each) with participants but only allowing viewing!

However the web preview stop at one hour. I have seen this earlier post explaining why it happens, however it doesn't really offer a solution.

    https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-files-folders/sharing-files-they-stop-playing-after-one-hour/m-p/467485#M177713

I do have a paid account and I have no time (nor it makes sense) to break down each video into more videos of one hour.

    Any other solution? Thanks

Hi Rodand, I'd be happy to answer this for you!

The participants can either download our desktop app, which wouldn't have this limitation.

Or they can download the file on their device and preview it that way.

      I hope this clarifies
