Syncing issue on Ubuntu

Pls,

I installed Dropbox on Ubuntu but it does not syncronize my file into drobox when I update them from another device!

Thanks in advance

  • Luckily now Dropbox works perfectly.

During the installation disappeared the dropbox daemon but it was hidden but active.

Now it is back in its original position without eliminating IcedTea!he

Thanks for the great job supporting the customer during dropbox installation!

Hey there clango - sorry to hear about your syncing issue.

Can you please try re-installing the app using our offline installer and let me know if this persists? If it does, please send a screenshot of the error you get.

Also, make sure you're running a supported configuration and that you're actually logged into the same account on both devices.

Let me know how this goes and we'll take it from there. Thanks!

PS: I moved your post to this thread as the original one was from 2 years ago.

Thank you to take care of my situation. It seems I haven't installed the daemon but now I am in the situation attached.

I cannot understand if the process has finished as the windows is in this position for a long time.

Thanks for the update clango - how long has it been stuck on this message?

Note that we currently support the following desktop environments:

        • Ubuntu (Unity) and GNOME Classic, full support using the package in our installation page.
        • XFCE is supported if the corresponding Nautilus dependencies are installed.
        • GNOME shell natively displays the file overlays, but requires the extension TopIcons to get the app indicator (tray icon).

If your desktop environment isn’t supported, you can use the Linux command line to control Dropbox. Additionally, Dropbox uses Qt 5.5, and as such needs the following software to work on desktop environments:

        • GTK 2.12 or higher
        • GLib 2.22 or higher
        • Libnotify 0.4.4 or higher
        • Libappindicator 1.0
        • Nautilus 2.30.0 or higher

The Nautilus installer source code has been released under an MIT license, and people have reported building from source on different versions of Gentoo, Arch Linux, OpenSUSE, and Debian so your results may vary depending on your specific configuration.

Let me know what you find please.
