Cannot establish a secure connection after dropbox update to 111.4.472
After the dropbox app (Window 10) updates itself to the latest 111.4.472 version, I'm getting this 'Cannot establish a secure connection'.
I've checked my time on my laptop, router. It's fine. I've disabled firewalls and the whole Eset Security. I've checked my ports. Everything is fine. I've turned off the proxy setting inside app. Scanned my system for viruses, nothing fount. The only solution is to revert back to the older version, but if I do so, the app will update itself so I'm at the beginning.
I've just received some news that I'd like to share with you all here!
It appears that ESET has fixed the problem that was causing this error.
For anyone running ESET on their device, please update to the most recent version of ESET to update to the software.
Once you've done this, you should be fine to revert back to the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop app. You can install this from here.
Otherwise, you can just allow the app to auto-update to the latest stable when a new version is released.

Hi everyone !
My main problem is now that Dropbox is saying that I cant establish secure internet connection. I tried every possible way to fix this problem. I changed proxy to no proxy, updated the app, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, ran compatibility on windows, changed the time on windows menu. This message comes only from one pc device, on the other 3 device dropbox is working very well without any problems. I would like to ask for your help, waiting for fast responses ! New on my DropBox today - Cannot establish internet connection.
Reading the community, I guess it's from the latest version uploaded by DropBox.
I understand there is a Beta fax - when will there be an official fix??

I am getting the message "Can't establish a secure Internet Connection". I have been using Dropbox for years on this computer without probllems. I have paused my antivirus program (ESET Node 32). Downloaded the latest version of Dropbox. The time is correct on the computer. But still no good.

Further to my previous post, I have now tried to access my Dropbox on three computers, and they are all showing this message. I can access Dropbox and make changes from my phone though.

In eset, allow dropbox to be exempt from SSL/TSL filtering ... Open eset; F5 for advanced setup; click 'Web and Email'; click 'SSL/TLS'; at 'List of SSL/TLS filtered applications' click 'edit'; scroll through the list of applications and click on dropbox and dropboxupdate

After Windows 10 update December 8, 2020—KB4592438, I get "Can't Establish secure connection"
I have reset the system clock and been through Antivirus and firewall settings to NO AVAILI can work around through my browser, but I would like to get the desktop app working again

I had the same problem under Windows 10 and the Eset fix worked for me. Never had to do this before. I have started a thread on the Eset forum.

Hi everybody,
I see that since last Friday many of you have the same problem with Version 111.4.472. Has there been a solution? Mine is also not working. I tried everything that is given as advice. But nothing is working. I have two computers, one with still Win 7. There is no problem. But with Win 10. I use ESET. Now I tried to re-install, but (maybe 'of course') it's not working, as it's still lacking the internet concection.

I am having the same issue and the windows upgrade. I uninstalled and attempted to reinstalled Dropbox v111.4.472.
I changed the proxy settings to none and it still will not connect and it will not allow me to log in. I do have an internet connection and I can get to Dropbox on via my web browser.
