Do all computers in a group or 'Family' need to be set up the same with the new Dropbox beta system?

If I upgrade to the new system and my partner does not upgrade, can we still access each others shared and Family folders?

Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for clarifying, jonno_the_fusspot.

In that case, it doesn't really matter if one computer is updated and the other isn't, you can both still access your Dropbox files as normal.

Hey jonno_the_fusspot, thanks for posting your question to our Community.

Not all computers in a Family plan need to be set up the same way; that being said, can you clarify what you mean by beta system?

Are you referring to the beta version of the Dropbox application or the new Dropbox Backup experience?

Any additional info you can give, will help me assist you further.

    Thanks!

      Thanks Hannah,

Recently the Dropbox App offered me to try "the Beta Experience for Dropbox for macOS on File Provider is available now".   Pretty sure that is not the 'backup experience'.

My partner's mac (macOS Sierra) is too full at the moment so I don't want to change anything on that. My mac is an M2 running Ventura 13.6.6 and has plenty of space on it.
