Double-click on the Dropbox icon opens the Dropbox folder with ALT enabled
Since days ago I have an strange behavior:
If I double click the dropbox try icon (Windows 10) the dropbox folder opens maximized, this is the normal behavior, but some days ago this changed: now the dropbox window opens maximized, and immediately it is restored like you press maximize button, so the window changes its size and position, and then the keyboard shortcuts appear in the menu bar like I pressed the ALT key.
This is so annoying, how can I restore the normal behavior?
Is this a bug?
Hey folks, I'm on the engineering team. Thanks for flagging this and sorry for the inconvenience. Confirming that this is a bug we rolled out accidentally, and we're looking to fix it soon. We expect this to be fixed in a future update that will get rolled out in about 2-3 weeks.
In the meanwhile, as a workaround, pressing the Alt key should get you back to regular state. Thank you

Hey Vick, thanks for your post.
Would you mind sending us some screenshots of the behavior you're seeing?
What Dropbox version are you using, and what is the sync status of the app when you hover over the Dropbox icon?
Also, does the behavior persist if you quit the Dropbox app?
Keep me posted.

I'm seeing the same thing, though my window doesn't maximize. The window opens normally, then a second later it acts as though the ALT key has been pressed. I'm on v217.3.4297.
For instance, I double click the icon in the system tray, the window opens, the shortcuts all highlight, and at this point if I were to type an F, the File menu would open, when normally I would have to press ALT-F for the same action.

Yes, this is the exact problem

I open from the windows 10 tray in the right corner by the clock. It will open maximized, a second or so later it will change size, and then act as if the ALT key has been pressed (it will show windows shortcuts). This does not happen with non dropbox related windows.

Gunyson, can you also clarify your Dropbox app version for me please? Is this something you noticed after a recent update, by any chance?

Version 216.4.4420
This has been ongoing for quite some time. I realized it at least a few months ago i believe.

I was just seeing how to attach a screenshot but I could not find it...
Just as Gunyson said, this seems to be a common problem, maybe a buggy update.
See in the image he posted, the window is NOT maximized anymore and in the upper left corner the shortcuts are present , like you press ALT key in the keyboard. I have this exact behavior.
This occurs when you make double click on the TRY ICON (in the right of the taskbar, next to the clock in windows 10)
Dropbox version: 216.4.4420 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.
Any solution?
