Update: I tried logging in with the account of a friend who has almost no file in their dropbox and it indexed and synced immediately. So the problem is not in the installation.
In my Dropbox folder, I have order 600GB of files. However, on my Linux computers, it has never taken more than a few hours to sync. Even indexing was giving indication of progress, here instead I only see "Indexing...". Furthermore, I am sync a single folder with 8 items in it.
Is there a problem on my account? What can it be?

Were there any folders prevented from syncing locally? If not, can you de-selected all of them, but one, by using selective sync to see if that makes a difference?
One more way to test this is by creating a new user profile on your computer and installing Dropbox there. If you choose the option to not have most of your files sync locally, while signing in, does the app still get stuck at indexing?
